What was the dumbest thing you remember doing as a child?

I was spinning around and already dizzy I ran to my bed thinking about falling into it but 😔...

Two things come to mind.
1. I was maybe 4 or 5 years old, I'm standing on the front porch of my next door neighbor's with a whiffle bat. I'm standing in front of this huge picture window and I see a fly buzzing around on the window so, I took my bat and tried to hit the fly and smashed their window! Not that it makes a difference, really but, it turns out, the fly was on the INSIDE of the house!

2. I was probably in my early teens, at the time. My youngest sister was CONSTANTLY filing up plastic bottles with soapy water and my mother kept yelling at her to stop it because she's wasting all that water AND the soap!! In trying to be helpful, I was in the basement one day and found another plastic bottle that looked like it was filled with soapy water so, I took off the top and poured it all down the wash tub drain. I told mom, later, and was told that that was a fairly expensive bottle of some new kind of cleaner that mom just bought and never even got to use, yet!! All these decades later and I still feel bad about that one.

Me dirt broke. Me not know how to get money. My parents are broke losers.

Me see's others having more money than me and they buy cool things and drinks.

I start thinking "Maybe if i act like the others, I will have money too because clearly being myself is not resulting in me having any money".

I started listening to music, that the others are listening to, talking like the others, react like the others, having opinions like the others, laugh like the others, act like the others, tell jokes like the others.

That didn't last long. I was still broke and on top of that being like the others i still was hated on by those same others. I let it all be obviously.

Today I see those same "the others" are losers.

we had no food… so I went to the mountains to look for food (berries, roots) …

the berries were not ripe… I ate a lot and was consitipated. I had a hard time going #2. My mom had to use a stick to help me get the stuff out…

Then I learned to sell scrap metals to buy pickled turnips … that helped me go 😊 … I learned the hard way.
