How to tell your dad to stop making noise when people are sleeping?

I live with my parents and I pay them rent.

I work 40 hours a week. I wake up at 6am and get home at 6pm.

My mum still works and my dad is retired.

He sleeps random hours in the day and night and by 2am he's up watching tv.

He's constantly making noise, going through the house while watching videos on his phone and slams. the doors.

He always says this is my house and I can do what I like.

I've tried ear plugs but they hurt my ears.

It's like he's a little kid.

I want to get my own place, but can't till next year.

I live with them as it's close to the train that I get to work.

You’re either going to have to bide your time until next year or buckle down and work harder than ever to move out sooner, even if that means getting a job that pays more or a second one entirely. Yes it sucks, but the thing is your dad will never respect you as an adult until you are completely self-sufficient and out of his house. Even despite the fact you pay rent, you’re still just his kid that hasn’t left the nest.

Be his friend, be nice to him, put some effort in showing him how u care for him than u do for urself, u might change ur mind about leaving ur parents house if u succeeded 👍🏻
