As for BLOCKBUSTER Video it was the place to be in addition to arcades & malls. As for BLOCKBUSTER Video unfortunately all the corporate owned locations closed & from what I understand & I have been reading there is still one location open & it’s privately owned in Oregon.

You know what is funny? Blockbuster had the opportunity to buy Netflix a long time ago & turned that deal down & after that boom the company failed.

Honestly, I low key miss Blockbuster. Yeah, streaming is easy, but where’s the fun of arguing over movies with your friends in the store, or getting stuck with a terrible pick because you waited too long to rent? If they ever reopened, even as a nostalgia pop up, I’d be there opening day. Some things just hit different.

There were so many wonderful experiences growing up & as for those experiences todays generation really missed out. From Blockbuster Video to arcades. From toy stores to drinking out of a garden hose. From Radio Shack to sitting in the very back of a station wagon without seatbelts & without power windows. Times were different & times have changed.

We had one a few blocks from our house- now it's an auto parts store.

I think there is one left. I remember hearing about the town buying it, just to keep it open. I have noticed that those "red boxes" you could rent movies from are also disappearing. For a while, just about every major store had one where I live (d).

None that I am aware of! Wasn't there some chatter awhile back that Blockbuster was considering doing a streaming style rental system, but have heard nothing more about that pursuit.

None are left by me. They also removed all but one of those red box kiosks in my area
