The largest golf course in terms of length is Nullarbor Links, located in Australia. It stretches 850 miles ( 1,365km ). The course has 18 holes, each at a different location from Western Australia to South Australia. Obviously I don't think anyone is going to walk this golf course. The largest normal golf course that I can find is Rockliffe Hall Golf Course in the UK, and it's approximately 5 miles long.

Is there not a regulation distance that all golf courses should have? You wouldn't have football fields or basketball courts of different sizes.

Apparently there is no regulations regarding the length of a golf course, but I think probably most golf courses will be between 2 and 4 miles long. I think with football fields, and basketball courts, there is a maximum and minimum size they can be.

They call it a golf course; that is all I know on that one.

Each hole would be 280 par and take 16 hours to complete, and a round of golf would take 12 days if you played continually, and avoided all the traffic on the highways. And after all that, you would need 18 more shots at the 19th hole!

average of 300 yds per hole X 17 = 5,100 yds ≈ 3 miles

The longest golf course in China and approximately the world, is the Jade Dragon Mountain Golf Club. It is a par 72 course that is approximately 5 miles long, at an altitude of over 10,000 feet ( 3,100 metres )
