I don't know for sure but I'm getting prepared for things like that. I have a stockpile of reserve food and water in my closet I'm adding to as I can for any unforeseen emergency. I have lots of blankets and my apartment has great heating. That said if the heating fails all I have are blankets I'm not allowed to have heaters in my apartment for fire safety reasons. As long as the power is still running, I do have the option of turning on the oven and just leaving it on to heat the apartment. It's not big and I keep most of the apartment sealed off anyways since I don't use it. If I get snowed in and lose water I have about 2 weeks of water three if I need to stretch it and at least in reserve 3 weeks food too but I wouldn't be eating for flavor with all of it.
@cormac995 Be careful using the oven for heating, since oven's are not designed for constant use. If it's a natural gas oven, there's the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. It's it's electric, there's the risk of fire. I was in a situation once where we had no power for 7 days, after an ice storm that took down the entire electric system in the area.. We used our gas oven occasionally, never running it for more than 2 hours.
Definitely prepared, we've had too very mild winters in a row. So we are overdo for lots of snow.
Only in areas that always get long bad winters. Everywhere else the following transcript holds true.
"Shall we buy grit and snow ploughs? It might snow."
"Might?"
"There's a chance."
"Chance? So I'd it doesn't we're stuck paying for unused stuff?"
"Yeah, fuck it let's give ourselves a pay rise instead."
Politicians are the same worldwide when it comes to snow.
@AviatorTom I'd always like to think I'm sometimes a humourist or intrigued person when it comes to the fictional nuclear winter shown in episodes like Family Guy Y2K from 1999, the Twilight Zone episode from Time Enough At Last in the 1960s etc, and Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines 2003. I for one often wonder in a nuclear winter, would even the doomsday preparers last or just some random guy who was unprepared by luck like Shaun of the Dead 2004/2005 movie. Nelson, the papers are out 👀👀😋😌 for a soda 🥤 "I'll pay you the rest tomorrow for the soda" 😉 other iconic lines "there's a woman in the backyard"* 😜 zombies 🙀🤯
@purplepoppy surely the redheads can survive nuclear winters just like Twinkies says Peter Griffin
@purplepoppy oh - I thought the user was asking about a nuclear winter versus a normal winter
Not prepared. Im worried that im gonna end up giving birth at home because of a snow storm lol 😆

@AviatorTom - oh - you mean a regular winter oh 😅 ah well. Winter here this year was average to cold, as usual 😞
Bullshit! I'm not buying any prediction from the Farmer's Almanac. We haven't had a decent ski season in the Northeast for about 7 years.
And don't forget, farmers overwhelmingly voted for tRump. They aren't the best decision makers. I don't think I'll be taking any advice from them.
Prepared or not I'll be working in it lol. But it'll be nice to have an actual cold legitimate winter for once. I say that but I know I'll regret it once it actually gets cold /=.
I don't think they are ever ready for winter.
I'm not from USA, so I don't know, I wonder what kind of Winter are we going to have.
News flash!
It's winter, it gets cold, it snows, go figure. You live up north 20 degrees F below zero is common.
If you don't like the cold move someplace where it is warmer.
Is this prediction made before or after Musks BigBalls gutted NOAA?
@dustybiker2It's got nothing to do with NOAA. It's The Farmer's Almanac.
Right... but how is that not affected?
@dustybiker2 The Farmers Almanac doesn't use NOAA forecasts, or any organization's forecasts. They look back over historical trends, recent weather patterns and recent flora and fauna activities. Their predictions are essentially homemade, not really based on science, but their predictions have been fairly accurate in the past,
@dustybiker2,
C'mon, you're smarter than this. The only reason rancid Musk stunk up the NOAA is because tRump still has that black Sharpie in his pocket. Any weather pattern can be quickly redrawn and the public told their eyes are lying to them again. More powerful than any weather satellite or the European and US weather models combined. Think of the billions we're going to save.
@OneViewpoint I'm always woman enough to admit when weather confuses me.
@AviatorTom If I recall back in my chunks of time spent in Cali, the ol' f almanac is usually inaccurate there. It's a bit of a running joke how much so.
People are stupid. They will forget about their last bad winter and be unprepared. I live in Southern California. As long as you don't live in Big Bear, you don't have anything to worry about here.
Send the skeeters back to hell where they belong!🦟
We don't get winter where I live.
