After every service done for me, big or small.
It’s such a small and cost-less thing that can cheer someone’s day up
And even benefit me if I return to the place often, like a store, because then I’m greeted with a smile and people are more prone to being helpful if I needed it10 Reply

3K opinions shared on Other topic. I'm really not the type to say something just because other people want me to, but I do still prefer to make efforts in many situations to keep the peace or show genuine appreciation. For instance if someone does a great job with something they could have easily not put effort in or if I'm dealing with people who are involved in my or others physical health because I don't want myself or others to die just for pissing them off lol.
Now make no mistake (the two people that will ever read this lol), I'm a rebel at my core (probably due to childhood trauma) so I refuse to be nice in a drone like way. I'd rather be civil & logical. People aren't entitled to my thanks & if anyone feels that they are, then I will show them my default state of indifference & apathy.12 Reply- 7 mo
Message understood. Loud and clear.
2.8K opinions shared on Other topic. Quite a bit. I make a point of smiling and saying "Thank you" to check out clerks, servers, and anyone who assists me. I'm nice to customer service representatives on the phone and thank them.
I'm sure people deal with a lot of ass holes throughout the day so I try to make them feel seen and appreciated. I also learned that people want to help you if you are nice to them.
At my job as a motor vehicle damage field adjuster/appraiser, I sometimes went out of my way to help people who were nice. And I could take a hard line against dicks.10 ReplyAs often as it’s earned, not out of habit, but out of awareness.
“Thank you” means more to me than manners, it’s acknowledgment.
I say it when someone adds value, not noise.
When a gesture carries intention, not expectation.
Gratitude isn’t in quantity, it’s in sincerity.
So when I say “thank you,” it’s rare, real, and it lands.10 Reply- 386 opinions shared on Other topic.
7 moI'm Gen Z but our parents raised us like it was the 80's. 🤣 I prolly use "please" and "thank you" more in a day than other words. And I can use a lot of words in a day, online and off. And thank you for asking. 😊

7 moAlways. It's one of those things we should do when someone does something for us. It's what we learned at a young age... well most of us anyways.
"Please and Thank you are the magic words."-Barney10 Reply 1.4K opinions shared on Other topic. Often. I say thank you to cashiers or to girls in workplace when they end a task. It's doesn't cost me much but has very positive impact how people see you.

7 moToo much. I've been raised in Canada since 1993. The days when people were polite and known to say thank you and sorry for everything. It's ingrained in me.
10 Reply 656 opinions shared on Other topic. Always when I buy something in shops and when people do something helpful... sarcastic times too when folk do dumb stuff to inconvenience or annoy me.
