Until 6 years ago, I had nine!! When I inherited my aunt's house, I also inherited her debt!! She STUPIDLY mortgaged the house before she died to give MORE money to the scammers she was dealing with!! Now, if I wanna stay here, I have to pay off the mortgage!!

  As for the amount, I'm not sure. Somewhere between 13 and 38 grand. Nobody's giving me definite answers when I ask.

I try not to have more debt than I can cover. I've got 10 houses, 4 of them have mortgages on them. I bought a new truck last year at 50,000 so I could write the tax off not because I needed it. I occasionally put things on my credit card just to keep my credit score up if I need to buy something in the future. Like two years ago a client left me high and dry on a big job refusing to pay. Me and a buddy of mine went back a month later and ripped the work out. Anyway I was left short of money and had to borrow to keep me afloat.
