Why am I up this early? or How's the weather?

Why the hell am I up this early? Well, I'll tell you. It's not 'cuz I'm a good country girl eager to get a start on the day at the break of dawn since it won't even be light for another hour or so. And what will I see when it is finally daylight? Cold.

Cold. Hard. Winter.
Fuck. It's -20 F this morning and that's without wind chill. I know a lot of other places are colder and all that but they aren't delicate, precious me who withers like a flower in this cold shit! I don't like this cold shit! I want to stay in bed all damn weekend! BUT it is my turn to keep the woodstove going and it is my job to tend the stoopid chickens when it's daylight even tho I will face perilous conditions and most certainly face my own demise at the cruel hands of heartless Old Man Winter. And that's why I'm up this stoopid early.

And why are you up reading this?

And speaking of others having it worse, I've been watching the storm chasers in other parts of the country. It's a disaster in some spots. I really hope everyone manages to stay safe.

It's 3 AM and I am awake because my nextdoor neighbor Jason has his frickin music playing! I live in an apartment and my bed is right up against his living room where his stereo is playing.
I don't think he listens to normal music. All I keep hearing is a drum pounding over and over again making the same sound.
I have told the apartment manager about it and she said she would talk to him about it, but here I am wide awake at 3 AM!🙄
Your picture of what the people in California think about winter - well, I am with THAT crowd of people.
Where I live it's very nice outside everyday. Sunshine 🌞 and in the 70's.
Yesterday I had to turn on my air conditioner again because I was too hot.
I did live in the South for 13 years and I hated the cold, 🥶 snow ❄️ and driving on black ice. I hated waking up and getting me and my son ready to head out every morning at 7:30 AM when it was only 6°F outside.
But I got the heck outta there and back to where I was born and raised. 🌞 😎

4. If you don't like the cold, move to Cali, Florida or Texas. But with Global Warming (or Climate Change... whatever you'd like to call it) you'll find it hits 20F down there sometimes as well.
