Is it annoying when someone freaks out over a bug?

What’s your reaction when a spider suddenly lands on you?

Because apparently mine is: freeze, panic, and become completely useless.

A spider landed on my leg while he was driving and I refused to touch it… I literally couldn’t.

He had to pull over like it was an emergency situation 💀

He looked like he was about to get annoyed… and then went,

“you’re annoyingly cute…”

Tell me honestly… would you be annoyed, or just laugh and handle it?

I go under a lot of houses in the winter time because of broken pipes and I need I Gear Up I don't want to cobweb touching me because it feels like a spider

but I don't like them either one night about 10 years ago or so I was laying in bed watching TV and
you know as it's changing scenes and it's night time when the picture changes it kind of shows Shadows everywhere well for some reason I looked down on my chest on my t-shirt and I saw the biggest spider going across and I mean those covers went flying off me I come jumping up out of bed and I wasn't going to bed until I found that thing
I couldn't find it until the next day but yeah it freaks you out nobody wants to get bit by a spider

I have a friend who's like six eight Big old boy Harley Rider belongs to a bike club and supposed to be this badass

he hates snakes and let me tell you what you clip some fishing line to a fake snake rubber snake clip it onto his pants belt loop and then Scream snake and run

and when that boy turns around and see that snake 20 inches away from him
his feet are like cartoon feet up in the air moving 100 mph not going anywhere and when his feet land he's burning that's dirt rocks the smoke he's burning rubber

screaming yelling and he's pulling that snake along with him not knowing that it's hooked up to his belt loop on his pants and that snake is following him everywhere and the faster he moves the closer that snake gets

look and the fear in his eyes and face you can't help but laugh your ass off

The more he screams the funnier it becomes

Hold on hold on I got to pick myself up from the floor laughing so hard

But I mean I don't blame you at all I mean nobody wants to bug on them

I have mixed feelings about it. I feel like most people are pampered princesses nowadays. It's not even just women who get scared of insects now. It's effeminate men who get scared of them too.

I feel like it's one of those things people kind of act out to "seem" more feminine. Because back in the past, when people were out in nature and not stuck inside 24/7, everyone dealt with bugs of all kinds. The girls in Australia nowadays are proof of that. They are not scared of bugs because they deal with them on the regular.

While I find it unnecessary, part of me likes being the "capable" one around to remove the spider fearlessly. I feel it's just one of those scenarios like a horror movie during a scary part where a girl might pretend to get scared to have the guy hold her and comfort her, because insects really aren't a big deal.

Most spiders are harmless and those little jumping spiders are frankly adorable: "wolfe" or "trapdoor" spiders... Big, ugly spiders in webs strung between trees, might be scary, but they don't bite people. Even tarantulas only bite when frightened (or possibly annoyed) by a person and make decent pets. Their bites are not venomous and only hurt. They want to make you go away!

Only the black widow and the brown recluse, both small spiders (In the US) are venomous and the widow's bite, though painful and needs medical attention, is not fatal to healthy people. The recluse is seriously venomous, and its bite causes necrosis (cell wall death) and needs swift medical attention.

Both spiders are reclusive and are rarely encountered as they hide in woodpiles and in areas where they will not be disturbed. So, 99% of encounters with spiders cause no threat to humans... Just think on that.

The only other insects that are actually dangerous are mosquitoes which can carry West Nile, yellow fever and a few other illnesses. So, wear your repellant. Bees and wasps are only dangerous if you swat at them to make them go away, THEN they sting you to make YOU go away. So move slowly away from them and they'll ignore you. Some people are highly allergic to bee stings. They could end you up in the hospital.

Insects pollinate a host of foods for Humans. They are generally good. Some do chow down on garden crops, but there is Sevin dust to deter most of them. Otherwise moths and butterflies and dragonflies and walking sticks and preying mantis and a host of beetles such as ladybugs are beneficial to people and plants. They are something to enjoy if you get over your fear of them. GOod luck!

Have never had one crawl on me. But I wouldn’t be scared.

However, I am terrified of worms and this past September while traveling in Saint Tropez, almost cried until my partner took one away from my shoe… and then asked him ten times to check that it was really gone.

He took off my shoe and made sure nothing was there anymore, then put it back on in the middle of the street… I was really terrified at that moment, mostly because I am so disgusted of worms.

This is a picture of a Water Bug. Looks like a giant cockroach 🪳 but they are as long as my hand. One day I was sitting on my couch and I saw something moving out of my pereferial vision crawling on the carpet at a rather high speed headed for my kitchen. OMG! 😳 I had never ever seen or heard of a water bug before that day. Well, I sure as heck didn't want to fall asleep with that creepy bug crawling around and find it in my bed during the night. So, yes! I killed it! I felt really bad but it scared me half to death. And I did freak out because I don't enjoy killing God's creatures.😞

LOL, I once had a huge hornet enter my S2000 while I was driving with the top down. he first settled on the dashboard when traffic slowed. When I picked up speed again he eventually settled on the passenger seat and just clung there head facing into the wind.

I figured OK buddy you tired? You need a lift? he rode with me for about another 30 min until I turned off a parkway onto secondary roads and came to a stop at a light. Then he lifted off and went on his way. I was thinking, sorry bud but you're 30 miles from your nest now. Or he hitched a ride home. I'm not sure which.

My best friend freaks out over seagulls and crows when they're flying above her. She has this irrational fear that they're going to attack her. I'm like buddy chill and then I start laughing.

I love spiders! But prefer them not on me. I just brush them off and try not to panic. Used to get all crazy, then I worked on my fear. These critters are the best. They are natural pest controllers and help my plants stay healthy. And they are surprisingly charming once you observe their movements and behaviour. Especially the jumping spiders.

I get sad when people kill them but I don't get annoyed when others freak out. I used to be them 😅

Mixed feelings. I have grown up in a pretty buggy area, so I am used to the little freaks by now. Especially spiders.

I do understand that people get the yucks or the creeps out of them. But I had so many of those annoying incidents that some people had to push me over or trip over me because they were running from a spider that literally did nothing but exist. Or when a simple bee was flying PAST them during the summer and they were screaming right into my ear. Even amongs grown adults. Its sometimes so obnoxious and irresponsible that it makes my hand itch with some people.

Literally I freeze, panic, and be useless in certain scenarios so, don’t beat yourself up or whatever. It’s a part of life.

Sometimes we have control, other times we lose it. I wouldn’t judge anyone for that and would work to a conclusion that fixes the problem and not shame anyone for their actions.

The worst thing would be to actively prevent me from fixing the situation while screaming your head off lol. As long as you get out of the way or watch, as the person does their thing then you are useful.

I hate spiders! I remember seeing that meme of a husband coming home and the house was on fire, with a big pile of their personal belongings in the front yard and his wife watching the house burn. It is. I knew a guy in highschool who had himself convinced to be allergic against bees. So he flailed his arms around like an idiot and thus made sure that he or someone else would be stung. And I knew a women with a ridiculous panic of spiders. The sort that has to call someone else to remove the spider. It was almost like watching a TV comedy skit.

Irrational fears are just that: irrational. They don’t make sense and usually mean that you have a much more intense fear response than what’s called for, but that’s just how your body reacts to it. Plus, some guys love being able to be the “hero” in situations like this, so it probably made him feel good to make you feel better by taking out what appeared to be a harmless threat.

I understand this. Depending on the bug, a bite from it could be quite serious. A bite from a recluse spider, for instance, is nothing to take lightly.

Sometimes it’s annoying, but it’s usually funny. I work with children So They flip out like it’s 911 when they see a honeybee. You can see the terror in their eyes when they run away screaming. Sometimes I laugh so hard I get abdominal cramps. It’s never not hilarious at first but after the theatrics go on for a too long I get annoyed and yell at them cause now they’re running all over the place.

Bugs don't bother me a bit. I never kill them unless they are something like mosquitoes which are out to hurt me. I catch them and put them outside.
