Does my CRUSH thinks that I'm annoying?

I'm 19 and my Crush is 24.
I have a crush on this guy who works at a bakery store. My mother noticed him being slightly intimidated by me and thought he has a crush on me. When I went to the bakery store by myself; he served me but there was this long silence between us with a lot of eye contact.
Anyway, a few days later, I gave him my business card to him which had my instagram/fb accounts and he said that he would follow me; which he did later that day.
I fb requested him, he accepted. So I messaged him saying thank you for the follow etc. He seemed to be interested hanging out with me on his day off but the only problem was that I have school and work on that day, so I explained that to him. At the moment he seems busy but later on he said that he can have the afternoons off (on the days that I don't work).

Today I saw him at his work place so I smiled at him and he smiled back with a awkward smile... then went out the back and never came out...

Does he find me annoying or is he shy?

I'm sorry boo, some girl got him already and I'll bet 100 of whatever your local denomination is (God help me if you're in a country where they use gold bars!) that it is a girl at his work place. Seriously, look for the girl, she will probably not be so pretty, she probably has to work hard to land a man so she has probably already either seriously flirted or had sex with him. I think you should meet him in personal and discuss the matter and make sure you are gonna meet him if you have told him... I think last time you didn't meet him after he was ready for that y he would have given you that awkward smile and might thought that you are just not interested in meeting and only eye contacts so meet him he will feel better and also ask y gave me that awkward smile... if gives the same reason then I am a good predictor

Well I obviously can't say for sure, but the awkward smile sounds more like being nervous (moreover if he added you in social media. If he doesn't like you he probably wouldn't have done it).
And the going to the back: he was at work. He probably did to do something... also if he's shy he might have panicked.

Suppossing your story is true as you tell it, I would be more inclined to believe he likes you but he's shy

Well you said he could get free the afternoon you don't have classes, no? Ask him if he would like to hang out / do. If he says yes, try to pick a calm place where you can talk (I said calm because it's easier to open up that way than with the whole mall around you xD) at first he'll probably be shy and awkward but if you make him feel comfortable little by little he'll open up to you
