How well, if at all, do you know Roman numerals?

It's common to write centuries, months in my country with Roman numerals and chapters in books.
Where is that?
I believe I could translate most any number into Roman numerals. Of course, very large numbers are somewhat pointless because, while the Roman system can accommodate them, it is cumbersome to do so to the point that it would unrealistic to be able to enter them using normal characters; you'd need specialized graphics software to do so. For instance...
Very well. Some time around 1970, British TV started using them for copyright because they'd had complaints from people who felt cheated that the programs were a year old (which was when they were filmed, not broadcast). It was fun to "decode" them.
MCMLXVI was a good year!
We did them at school but I've forgotten them. I recognise up to 12 but thats because you see them on clocks all the time.
I've only ever seen IV
Probably made China. I'm going to be looking at every clock now
I was going to post a picture of a grandfather clock but I found this one which was ahead of it's time, having 6-7 at 7 o'clock!

I'm pretty good I think. Back in the day the copyright date on movies was always shown in Roman numerals (why. I have no idea). So for example MCMLXVII was 1967. You had to take M=1000, then the tricky part to get was the 900: CM meant subtract C from M (1000-100) to get the 900, then obviously L=50, X=10, V=5, and so forth.
So then 2026 would be MMXXVI.
I believe I learned them at school, it also helps to see them often written as dates, up to XXI. I totally forgot what the D meant though, so thanks for the D !
Yes, I know them. They still get used such as to identify which Super Bowl it is. Movies often have them at the end ti show the year they were released. They are on major building etc. It’s not hard to memorize them.
Yeah, I remember learning and using them in school.
And since then just maintained the general knowledge.
At copyright in films, i pause and calculate that 'mmxx" stuff.
I know them but get confused with big numbers.
Just a few of them. I've rarely ever had to use them during my lifetime.
well, we see them through all school years, so yeah... lol
I do. I studied two years at classical studies college so I know them well.
Nearly all of them because I had a REAL education, not a "patriotic education" indoctrination.
This is exactly what I was talking about a few weeks ago.
YEAH, BUDDY!!!
Arabic numerals made them obsolete in the same way alphabets made pictographs obsolete.
I know enough to realize that LIVID would not be "legal" in Roman numerals.
Sweet!
By the Super Bowls, that’s where I see them most
I know them extremely well. My girlfriend can ask me what a roman numeral is and I can tell her within 30 seconds, based on the number of numerals.
Good jokes 😂. I know them pretty well.
I barely know any
Yes. We had to learn them in Latin class.
I learned Roman numerals in grade school.
Pretty well.
I know most of them.
