What are the most important aspects of maturity? What makes a person truly mature?

Trying to do the right thing with everything you do in life. Making good decisions.

Taking responsibility for your actions.

Not being addicted to negative excitement and chaos.

Comfortable in your own skin.

Treat everyone with kindness. Even and especially strangers when you're out in public.

To be honest and truthful and no cheating.

To show those people in your life that you love them and not just saying it.

Not walking away from relationships without trying to fix it together first.

Don't do things that deliberately hurt people.

Help people who need your help.

Take care of your business and pay your bills on time.

Be a good provider if it's possible.

Help make your living space nice and clean and taken care of.

Go out of your way for people.

The willingness and ability to accept responsibility without being forced to do so through negative consequences. Beyond that, and equally important, is the willingness and ability to recognize when you don’t know enough to take a firm stance on a matter and do the work before taking a stance. Furthermore, the willingness and ability to accept when you are or might be wrong, apologize and amend your behavior going forward.
All of these behaviors should be intrinsic. You would behave the same whether someone else was holding you accountable or not. If you require other people’s intervention to do the right things, then you’re still a child.
