It's a major factor at the least. The older you are, the more time has passed in which had the chance to gather experiences, make mistakes, learn from them, and so on.
There are people who are inherently more mature (or have more potential to maturity). But even such a person will be less mature at a young age than later on, simnply because of life experience.
So, even if you're more mature than most 14 year olds, there are certain things you just can't be mature about yet, because you need to go through these things first-hand first.

Age does define so much maturity. Obviously some people can be more mature for their age. But that's about it. Look wise it's true, 14 is too young to worry about it, even though they do. It's good to plan your future out, but don't be afraid if it changes, besides, there's plenty of years ahead.
Age does define maturity in many ways. It’s common for kids your age to feel the way you do.
I’m glad you feel put together and like you have direction in your life but don’t forget to enjoy being young
Make sure you pick a field that will be booming a decade from now. Think hard about what you see developing. Planning and architecture is always gonna be around. I'm an electrician and there is a women architect/designer who sometimes comes in and changes things. She deals with all the decisions regarding light fixtures and how the bathrooms look. The company she works for is booming like crazy. They manage the construction of commercial buildings. That's where all the money is at = commercial.
No, it doesn't, it entirely depends on the person. I'm 20, but I don't act like it most of the time. A pretty good pointer if someone is mature is usually if they use the "I'm mature for my age" excuse. If they do, they probably aren't...

No age doesn't define maturity. I'm 16 and i am way too mature for my age! when people say you are only 16 i'm like i'm 16?
no it doesn't. but generally speaking with age comes certain amounts of maturity
I’m the same way. My future is basically planned out and I’ve been raising my step brother cause my parents are never home.

That there is such a focus on looks with maturaty shows that you are not there yet but that's ok because there is no need to be more mature then your age
Good for you, hun.
Yes, It can, but Integrity also is the Main Drain. Many out there do Not have it. xxYou basically answered your own question with "I'm 14 and mature for my age". Obviously age does not define maturity
Giving advice and being experienced are 2 separate things it's like phisicists and Laborers you can have the knowledge but knowledge with pathway will still make you get lost.
In this era it no longer does.
You sound more mature than (age wise) some older people. No it doesn't it's the personality that defines maturity
Nope. You can be 70 years old and still very immature.
Beyond hygiene and grooming, stop worrying about your looks, entirely. It's shallow.
Age does define maturity
