I think I'm very good at giving people bad news, because I have no qualms about doing so. I'm very blunt, and direct. "Hey, your brother tried to light his own fart, and accidentally burned your house down."
If someone prefers more tact and empathy, well then they're going to be disappointed, because I don't do that. Whether I sugarcoat it, or not, your brother still burned the house down, and the end result is the same. One method just delays the grieving process.
People in that second group probably think I suck at it. 🤷

That depends on who you ask.

it really depends on how bad the news are... and also what kind of person they are
case by case scenario...
I am extremely pragmatic. They get the bad news straight unless they ask for sugar. How they take it is entirely up to them.
I can be direct about it. I prefer it given to me slowly
I am about as subtle as a sledgehammer.
That is a funny story. I usually just say it, but I might change my tone to weaken the blow.
I have had to do it many times in my job. it is not easy, but I am good at it.
I’m not the best at it 😂 I usually try to be honest, but I will say it as gently as possible
Very good. I have 0 problem doing so
