When are you turning on the heat?

I try to make it to Halloween before I turn on the oil burner. We had a couple of cold mornings this week but we just bundled up. A sat on the couch with a blanket and a heating pad. Just ten days to go.

Our home heating system runs off of the propane tank that fuels our stove, hot water heater and clothes drier.
We keep our thermostat set at 63° but our house is well insulated and the furnace doesn't start kicking on until the constantly cold days and nights of winter arrive.

It has gotten down to the low 50s, high 40s over the last few nights and our furnace still hasn't had to kick on.

Our overnight low temps have been in the low 50's. That is cool for Florida. However, my house is well insulated and the temp inside this morning, with no heat whatsoever, was 74F. We probably won't need heat until sometime in December.

I usually only turn it on in winter when it’s really cold in the morning … I don’t like getting out of the shower and the air is just freezing cold 🥶…

I already did at the beginning of the week at night. Then when I leave for work, I turn it over to a/c since we are still getting warm days here.

We try to wait until November but we've had some cold nights here in the Southeast, in the high 40s F, so we turned the heat on a few weeks early this year.

It's kinda weird because afternoon temps are in the 70s F and we've occasionally had to flip to air conditioning.

Usually I turn it on in the first half of November. Here in southern Italy it's still warm enough until then.

I'll turn it on at night if it starts getting chilly in here and then shut it off during the day.

When it gets too cold, usually in the evenings. Until then, a hoodie and blanket do the trick!
