Wouldn't It Be Great If They Would Put A Cap or a Freeze On Grocery Prices For the 2027 Year?

[sage2021]

Is that even possible?

They did that for people who were renting. I didn't get an increase for a few years.

[MrChinaski]

Sure. You can cap food prices. People have done that before.

I think that's a fantastic idea :-D

[xawyx-3]

Thanks for the MHO

@xawyx-3

You're welcome my friend 😊🧡

[Paige2006]

That's a great idea!

[Sal_Monella]

Not for all those in the pipeline. Job losses and bankruptcies. The margin at the cashier is under 5%. The farmers, ranchers, processors, transporters and distributors all make chump change. Here's a better idea. Fire 30% of government workers and the penalties they inflict on citizens. Think about that on November 3rd.

[Grond21]

I don't think that would be great. Usually when prices are really high, the government is the cause. Then they step in pretending to be the saviors and fix the prices. When always happens, every single time, is both the quality and quantity of what is being sold goes down drastically.

[sage2021]

@Gronde21

It was just a thought. I don't know how it all works.🤷🏼‍♀️

[Grond21]

I get you. It would be a lot nicer if prices were lower. I just don't think having the government do that is actually helpful, despite their promises to the contrary.

[FunkyMonkee]

And the landlords and getting screwed!! They can't afford to make the repairs needed to the apartments because they aren't getting the money from rent that will allow them to buy the supplies!
If they WERE gonna freeze grocery prices, they should drastically lower them, first!! Say...`60's standards!

[exitseven]

Nixon tried this in 1972. He called it the 90 day freeze. Prices could not rise for a period of 3 months. I do not know how effective it was.

[LiamJHayden]

The problem is that if they make it so somewhere along the line someone can make more doing something else, there will be shortages.

[ohsheeT]

Yes its out of control America has evil running all of us they go out of there ways to keep us broke they make it so no one can get ahead its sad to say it but its true

[AviatorTom]

No. Price controls do not work. There are many historical attempts at price-fixing, they've all failed, usually making things worse, reducing overall supply.

Or Maybe Just Maybe Visit your Local Farmers Market!.

You will Realise that How Cheap Groceries actually are!

[moddy_the_mod]

No it would not. The government doesn't control private businesses. The government should put a cap on its spending and money printing.

[Kelly6]

@sage2021 That would be part of socialism

[NathanDavis]

commies!!!

[robocop666]

with oil prices rising this cannot be done
