Apart from potential smell and minor inconveniences? I suppose it is okay. But.
Leaving urine unflushed will gradually cause increased buildup of various mineral, dirt and alike.
Getting rid of that buildup will probably consume more time/money/resources than just flushing right away would. At a bare minimum cleaning supplies and plenty of extra flushing.
So its sort of one of those situations where unless there's some special circumstance at play it isn't actually helping as a long-term policy and might do a bit of harm instead. While I can imagine some short-term situations where it is a good policy, in general flushing is probably not just more sanitary but also better for the environment, your pipes and toilet, your wallet, etc.
I don't think it's a big deal if it's just urine and you're the only one using the bathroom. Flushing every single time does use water, so I can understand wanting to save some. I'd probably flush after a few trips, though, because leaving urine sitting for too long can cause an unpleasant smell. As long as the toilet is kept clean and you're considerate of anyone else using it, I don't see a problem with it.
My uncle used to insist on it. He posted a sign in his bathroom that said, "If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down." He also insisted that if there were a number of people staying there for a whole, 2 or 3 people had to use the same bath water before filling the tub with fresh water.
Definitely not something I could ever contemplate doing.
that's not alright... it will attract the fetishists...
We flush to minimize the odor. The small flush on a modern toilet only uses about a quart of water.
If it's yellow let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down.
If you like your house smelling like a piss pot
That's fucking gross to leave your piss in the toilet. flush.
... thats disgusting dude.
For pee it's ok
