Is it creepy to suddenly sit next to a girl in class in college and start talking to her?

This really cute girl is in my class and I want to get to know her better.

Would it be okay for me to start sitting next to her to talk to her? I am definitely the shy type so this would be quite an accomplishment for me. I don't think I would be taking someone else's seat.

Would it be obvious I am into her if I started sitting next to her and talking?

reading this I felt like I could of wrote this. I am the same as you and there is this girl in one of my classes that I think is really cute. Everyone seems to sit in the same seat every class and I'm 5 weeks in and I thought it would be weird to just start sitting next to her without it seeming obvious I'm in to her. I'm really shy as well but I keep telling myself that I should just go up and talk to her. who knows things could go great. but if you just sit and think about it nothing is going to happen. If you think about it what's the worse that could happen. how about you talk to the girl in you class this week and ill talk to the one in my class.

not if you have something to say. and don't talk forever about nothing. then let her talk, if she's interested.

Go for it. Especially if you usually sit with friends or a certain spot. She and others will notice, "Hey, that guy went out of his way to talk to that girl."

Don't talk too long, as the conversation will eventually run dry. Head out back to wherever you usually sit a bit early, so that she is left wanting more.

Also, STAY AWAY FROM THE FRIEND ZONE!

I did this last spring and wound up finding out she was a mutual friend of some of my friends, needless to say, it didn't work out and she wound up dropping the class. It's just a risk you'll have to take to see what happens
