What's with the stink eye?

I have noticed on occasion that I get the "stink eye" from some other women. One example is some neighbors I had. The guy that was living there was very friendly and we would always acknowledge each other during passing (neighborly acknowledge, nothing flirtatious) His wife (or girlfriend, not sure which) wouldn't give me the time of day, let alone acknowledge me. It seemed I was always getting the "stink eye" from her. I've had this happen from others on other occasions. And mainly from women who are with a man. What's up with this? I only get it from other women.

Jealousy and insecurity.

The woman may be jealous of how you look physically (maybe your hair is nicer than hers or you're taller) or of the clothes you wear (you pull off the latest trends better or simply put more effort into dressing than she does). She could even be shy and be jealous that you're more open/friendly than her. You're able to say a friendly hello to her husband while she can't do the same for you. This jealousy could be completely subconscious where she has this gut feeling she doesn't like you, but doesn't know why or care to figure out why. She just gives you a nasty look instead.

Similar to jealousy, she could be insecure about her appearances or about her partners faithfulness to her relationship. And thus her own insecurity leads to her seeing you as a threat. Again this could be completely subconsciously, just a gut feeling that she doesn't bother to figure out the root cause of.

I get this periodically. Sometimes there is another woman who I just can't like. There is nothing I can do. It's just a gut feeling, an instinct and I will give her nasty looks and will be unable to like her.

I think it's jealousy, also because their boyfriend or husband might of looked at you or think they might.
