Do all women pull back to make men chase? Women: please answer poll

Ok sometimes women are really confusing. & I think I got a glimpse into the female mind when I read what a woman posted in a question.

"Should I pull back and hope he'll chase me? I really want to be with him and am trying hard to not let him know that"

So the question is does every woman do this?

Why do women do this? Well I used to hate this kind of thing, it's game playing. But now that I have been through the ringer, I know exactly why women do it.

They do it so they don't appear desperate and it makes the guy actually want to be with them. If a guy knows you want him, then he may not appreciate you as much. I know because I had this happen to me.

I was a really great girlfriend. I cooked, took care of him, made sure he had everything he needed. I was at his beck and call most times. I always planned my life around him. And you know where it got me? Singlesville!

You have to at least not appear the most eager to be with a guy. Take your time and see what options you have. Get to know him first, find out if he is right for you.

Let him put effort into the relationship. If he wants to be with you, he will make it happen!

Not saying guys should be the only one's to put effort into a relationship. Women should too. It doesn't hurt to do some things.

Anything and everything a girl does is for attention. Personally, I pull back as a defense mechanism. I think most girls don't "play" these games when guys dont. If he acts interested from the beginning and is consistent then I am generally going to be the same way. However, it seems as though men have taken the control to gauge who likes who and how much. I feel as though its the guys playing the games whether they like us, want us as girlfriends, or hookups or a passing fling. Too many times I hear guys sleep with a girl knowingly they don't like her and never will and could care less. Girls just want to prevent this situation so our only defense and control is to play coy and hard to get so we can gauge how much a guy really likes us. It seems that its the guys who now have control these days, not girls.

It depends who initiated.

If the guy is the one who made the first move/ asked me out, then pulling away would most likely mean that I'm trying to let him down gently/ figure out how to break up.

On the other hand, if I'm the one who initiated/ asked him out (in this situation atm), then pulling back is more of a test of their interest in me - I want to know if they're interested for sure and not just going along with it and making me do all the work.

Do you think that's reasonable? I'd quite like to get some people's thoughts on that approach...

It's natural for men to chase women to an extent. You don't need to be desperate or clingy to chase a women. Just man up and ask for what you want without being a jerk about it. Women will like it when the man has enough balls and confidence to ask for what he wants. When you come out and ask for what you want there should be no guessing left, you'll have your answer.

My girlfriend pulled back when we were kinda dating because she wasn't sure if she was ready for a relationship yet because she wasn't completely over her ex and her past relationships didn't work out well at all.  I kept up because I knew I wasn't being rejected, and eventually she decided to give us a try, and it's worked out great so far.

When I pull back, I am rejecting the guy.  It's so annoying when I pull back and he thinks it means that I want him to try harder.  If I was interested, I would chase back.  But then again, not all women are in possession of their full metal faculties.

Not all women do this, but I certainly will not throw myself at a man. I let him pursue me when he knows I am interested, lol. So, maybe I let him do 60% of the initiation while I do 40%. Then over the course of a relationship it becomes 50-50, ideally.

As for when I'm not interested? I tell him I'm not interested and cease contact.

Of course I like to feel wanted, but I don't encourage a chase AT ALL. I don't think many women do encourage a chase. We want a guy who is direct, clear, reliable and with ---FOLLOW THROUGH--

i.e. he likes me, he asks me out, he turns up to the date, he makes an effort to get to know me.

If a girl says "i hope he'll chase me", she's missed the point. Guess he's not into her, huh? If a guy wants a girl, acting aloof ain't gonna reel her in. Seriously! He's GOT TO be clear.

I learned through experience that the ones who play games aren't that interested & could take it or leave it. It's best to walk clean away when you see that behavior. As one girl said, she won't play games if she really liked the guy. That's true for most women.

I only find this to be true when women don't want to appear desparte/clingy. Men want things they can't get easily. They like a challenge but not too much of one. It's a game.

I only pull back when I feel he is. There is no point in chasing someone who does not want me. I am sure plenty of women do though.

Yes, I pull back to make them chase, I never chase them because I feel as if I am easy and I will not be sure that the guy is totally interested If he doesn´t chase me. Besides, it is more fun like this.
