Why do some guys wear 2 pairs of Nike socks with sneakers?

Is it cool or does it have some practical reason? I didn't just see it at sports events, that's why I think it must be some fashion thing. Do you think it looks good?

They wear two pairs of socks because shoes nowaday seem undercushioned, especially if you're playing basketball you could really do with the extra cushion on your heel to support your ankle. I wear two pairs of socks if I know I'm going to be doing quite a lot involving my feet too, so that there's less friction with my foot and the inside of my shoe, so I don't get blisters as often.

it's a fashion thing back in HS the black kids at my school started doing it then as it usually goes the white kids started copying like if they had blue and white basketball shoes they'd wear a pair of white socks then blue, so that you could see both the logos though, there's no practical reason for it

I haven't seen that, but I wear two pairs of socks sometimes because its comfy and warm.

I wear 2 pairs of socks. My reason is because there's more cushion around my feet which makes the shoe more comfortable. Plus the shoe fits better when I wear 2 pairs of socks. My shoe size is in the middle of two whole sizes and they don't sell half size shoes in any of the stores I shop at.

My shoes fit better wearing two pair of socks. For some it's a fashion thing.
