Why do some girls act tough?

Question

Every now and then you will come across girls that think they are stronger then a average guy. That doesn't make them any more attractive, well at least not to me. How do they even get dates.

Lol. Funny story

I hung out with strictly my brothers and their friends for a couple years (when I was 15-17 years old, and my brothers are are +1 and +3 years older than me) simply because I thought all of my friends were bullsh*t and there was no point in having them. But I still needed people to be around. So anyway, I thought that the "right" thing to do was show NO attraction to any of them and not play on games with any of them when they hit on me (if ever). So to avoid these situations and do the "right" thing, I figured, I have to be bros with them. I have to have them view me as a bro, not a chick. Which wasn't hard because I do have interests in things that typical boys do/like (swearing/fights/video games/etc). And since it was ongoing for 15-17 years it just stuck to me to act this way.

Since they were used to me being there I was also included in a lot of guy talk...talks about women, ass, t*ts, etc. and they did degrade women a lot and it just became a natural thing to me to joke about. So I look pretty f***in weird when I crack sexist jokes lolol or I just have a lot of good scummy jokeful pick up lines that would be said from a male pov to a female.

Now that I've matured and I realize its attractive for a chick to have a SEXY, flirty side, not a masculine side, it was harder for me to find my sexy side LOL. I also know how to flirt buuut...its more of a masculine playful tone -___- can't help it. I always laugh after also because I am aware of how ridiculous I sound sometimes. but hey, that's how I am.

Anyway aside from that when I actually TRY to act tough is only when I'm challenging someone (i.e. ill whoop your ass in cod or cs or fight night lol) or someones talking crap to/about me..

What is wrong with a girl being stronger than average?  I happened to be that way.  I started lifting weights in college and have maintained some of that upper body strength over the years.  Not that I'm a big muscle builder woman by any means.  I just happen to be fairly strong for a woman.  I didn't do it for attractiveness, I started because I wanted to be toned.  Now I'm not so much toned but I still have the strength.  If a guy is threatened by a physically strong woman, that says more about HIM, not her.

Girls are constantly being told by guys that they are weak. Some will laugh and act like they are weaker than others. Some just want to prove that they're not as weak as guys make it seem. It could be that they don't want to be hurt. Maybe some girls are just tom boys. It never hurts a girl to be strong. Whether its physically or emotionally.

I understand why insecure women would behave that way, but it doesn't achieve what they probably think it does.  Women behaving in a masculine manner are no more attractive to men than effeminate men are to women.

Girls don't want to have the impression that they are weak and vulnerable. They want to show that they are independent and strong willed.

Ah so that's what I'm doing wrong. Kidding I know I'm not stronger than (adult) guys and am adverse to violence but there's very few things I can't do myself. I work in a male dominated career and I can hold my own. There's no DIY jobs I have met that I couldn't do pretty well. I don't think it makes me any less feminine or appealing. I still look feminine. The only difference is I do all the men and women things in a dress and high heals. I'd say that's more sexy than the weak dependent little girl...it's still nice when a hansom young man helps you change a flat tire though...it's not very comfortable to jump on a lug wrench in delicate shoes if you're caught away from home.

are you talking about mental or physical toughness. I think it can actually be a great turn on to some guys simply because its different. think about it, to stand out you need to have that extra something. your personality may shine brighter than others, you may have an amazing smile. sometimes it might be your attitude, your strength, will, determination to show you are strong which will make someone be like wow this girl/ guy has fight in them that's hot. some people like the passion which "strong" women exert. it can be seen as a "challenge" which guys like.

Because some men act like being physically tougher makes them better than us. Plus, I could totally take down an average guy as long as I got in a good ball shot. Not all girls want to be a helpless damsel, and if there comes a time when I actually have to defend myself against a guy it'll be easier if I pretend to roughhouse with all my male friends to not just cower and let the guy do whatever he wants. Plus, a lot 'average guys' aren't that tough and a good number of them don't know how to fight. I'm athletic (still tiny) and took karate for over a year (only quit because I had no more money). If I was lucky, I could probably totally kick their ass.

And I do get dates. Only a**holes who try to prove how tough they are or make me feel threatened make me act tough.

Well, sorryyy.

I was raised with my brothers and was always taught to be independent and as strong or stronger than them, so there's no way in hell I'll wear pink and cry or scream when I see a cockroach. Actually I don't even know anymore if that was taught or if that's just the way I'm.

Funny thing, the only guys who seem to have a problem with it, are the guys who look girlier than I do, suck at sports, etc. I don't care about them either.

I know this may come as a surprise to you, but if a girl is acting tough, it's NOT ABOUT YOU. It's about HER feeling strong, secure and empowered without having to rely on the confidence boost of dating, which usually ends up being rather an emotional roller coaster for the average gal.

Being a strong, independent woman has nothing to do with getting dates. In fact, one day when you grow up you'll find that a lot of guys are actually turned on by confident, self-sufficient women.

Believe it or not, some women genuinely are like that. We can also have mannish personalities and sometimes even confidence will make a woman act like that. What would you prefer, for them to be insecure and weak or to pretend to be like that?

So women should seem weak to get dates? And their mission in life should be to get dates so they should not be tough or "act" a certain way. That's such a disgusting attitude imo, sorry.

If you don't like "tough" women who seem a certain way to you, then that's you. The answer to your question may simply be that this is their personality. They develop as a result of upbringing, reactions to experiences, personal interests and tastes, etc. just like everyone else. you don't know where they come from or what theyve gone through, so who are you to really question their demeanor based on their sex? that's sexist to me. just my opinion.
