526 opinions shared on Other topic. This is obviously another racial question like before. I don't think you chose the best examples of black women.
But here's the thing: Black people represent nearly ALL genetic variety in the entire human race. The moment you leave sub-Saharan Africa, you're talking about the minority of human genetic variety. So I find it funny when people refer to blacks as a unified, homogeneous group.
The single most homogeneous continent is Europe, whose preferences in features are primarily European, and therefore much more particular and uniform than what you would find in Africa.
Black men likely have more variety of personal preferences. It's why you'll find much bigger black women, and more black guys who prefer big women. The availability and the preferences match up.
This is also why there's a frustration with the whole obesity epidemic. Most people throughout history have been thin. So men's attraction was based mostly on a thinner frame. After thousands of years of this, obesity suddenly surged in the past 30 or so years. Suddenly men's preferences don't match with women's bodies.
Men's preference has adjusted a bit to include bigger women, but you'll find men fantasize about women who are farthest from the current epidemic. When starvation was common, men fantasized about big women. Now that the developed world is literally eating itself to death, men fantasize more about thin women.
The effect hit men less, likely because it's masculine to be "big and strong".
Another thing, the "masculine" women you showed weren't so much masculine as they were more muscular. Beyonce is often used as an example of feminine curves, and she has legs that could practically crush a car.
You'll probably find that white men are attracted to black women with "white" features. This isn't an issue of sexism or racism. It's an issue of genetics. Most of the developed world is white, so why would it be shocking that most of the developed world likes "white" features?53 Reply- +1 y
Who said anything about white features? Even then, a black girl with white features is still less feminine than the petite Asian or white girl
And I chose fair examples. You all, being the politically correct bunch you are, cried about how unfair it was

Thanks for BA. Studies have shown that Blacks have greater levels of testosterone, bone, and muscle density.

I'm not sure how fruitful the endeavor would be. Africans that were brought to America have been mixed with other races since their arrival. Not to mention the "weak" died on the boat to America and 300 years of unfavorable conditions, while the "strong" survived.
The product of this can be observed in "African" Olympic gold medalists, the vast majority of which are descendants of the Atlantic slave trade. - +1 y
Pardon me, approximately 500 years.
- +1 y
I'm not sure how you inferred that.
788 opinions shared on Other topic. yes it's probably most likley due to different testosterone and estrogen levels at different stages of their lives. i.e men generally find infantile facial features attractive and a low levels of testosterone during puberty create infantile features I don't think you picked the pictures well though
Beyonce for example has a very feminine pear shaped body. While eva longoria, Selena gomez and the chick in the black bikini have rather boyish bodies. Not masculine but not very feminine either. It's hard to make judge the faces on those pics, but generally speaking round faces are feminine and squared faces are masculine link link what is considered most attractive though is a mix of masculine and femine though. Angelina jolie for example has a rather squared face with a lot infantile features411 Reply- +1 y
What's considered boyish to women is feminine to men...
- +1 y
Men also like petite women :) hence why so many women get offended when guys express their preferences for them
- +1 y
And? That makes them less of women why? In the fat world we live in today, men have no problem with women who have body types like that
- +1 y
I didn't say that, but asked for feminine and masculine features, well truth is boyish figure is not very feminine in terms of hormones, it implies low levels of estorgen.
I also didn't say that men have a problem with them, but they also don't have a problem with women who are shaped like Beyonce. What's your point Love? - +1 y
Most guys don't find Beyonce attractive. Sure, black guys do, but they aren't known to be the pickiest of men.
And those bodies are feminine, but whatever makes you feel better :) - +1 y
I shouldn't have children because I won't entertain the typical American female mindset of "real women have curves"? lmao
Sureee - +1 y
You both sound mature. Name calling. How original
+1 yAfter looking at your picture I don't think I understand your question.. the ladies in your "Masculinity" section , in my opinion , seem more attractive in feminine ways then the ladies in your first group.
I say this because in the first group the ladies are all thin with little body shape.. where is that hourglass shape? No curves?
The ladies in the second group have curves, some with muscle definition. I see these as healthy feminine traits.
Are you looking at their bodies overall or just their facial features?56 Reply- +1 y
A woman can be healthy without having exaggerated curves or carrying excess weight
- +1 y
I didn't say a women without "exaggerated curves" was unhealthy, but I do not understand what you mean by "feminine vrs. masculine" features based upon the pictures you chose.
- +1 y
No, I don't want to be Lana del rey, Cindy
- +1 y
LOL Ladies!
You can't just pick the most masculine women from one group and the most feminine from another. It doesn't work that way. Both have masculine and feminine. I can tell you that a lot of white or Asian women look like men if they do not flash their boobs. Also a lot of black women look very delicate and feminine. You can't assign it to one group or the other, especially with your approach.

The first two pics you linked, the girls still have masculine faces. Strong jawlines, large lips and large noses...
Even the "feminine" black girls you showed still aren't feminine. Sorry - +1 y
neither have strong jaw lines, and since when were large lips masculine? Full lips are a sign of FEMALE FERTILITY.
You should be sorry. for being wrong. =D - +1 y
- +1 y
sad part is, I think you genuinely believe what you say...
Anyway, there is a certain genetic disposition to have certain facial features. However, the interpretation and correlation is almost arbitrary. Does a girl have full lips because of genetics or because she's actually fertile? Both? Does a man have a strong brow bone/forehead because he has high testosterone or genetics? Both? If a girl has no cheekbones, does that mean she's infertile? No. Again, it's mostly arbitrary.
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yHow is link more feminine than link ?
Anyway Oestrogen has a bigger impact on a woman features (face and body link )than Testosterone. Femininity is enhanced by more estrogen. Those "feminine"girls have lower estrogen than some of those "masculine" girls
As to why some "groups" are more feminine I don't know why and I personally don't see it everyday. It could possibly be due to the slave trade. Slave owners wanted the more athletic and stronger people and hand picked them.
And after looking at these I'm convinced that I l'm attracted to "masculine"features
link link link link link11 Reply4.2K opinions shared on Other topic. I read somewhere that women with smaller noses and large eyes had more estrogen when in puberty. Also shorter females and female with larger hips. Supposedly taller males and males with deeper voices had more testosterone (these are all only determined during puberty so hormones may have changed). Do you see the contradiction? Okay who would have more testosterone during adolescene? The short male with deep voice or the tall one with higher pitched voice? Who has more estrogen? The short girl with small eyes or the girl with a small nose and small hips? I don't think science knows that much about this.
04 Reply- +1 y
Well, then, the girls with bigger noses, lips, shoulders and taller in height would have more testosterone...
Like the women shown in the example - +1 y
Facially she's pretty but her body isn't exactly feminine. She's just a savior to fat girls who think they're "thick" like she is. I'm not calling her fat, it's just that fat girls idolize her
None of the links you label as "masculine" aren't particularly masculine. And why did you pick all black women? Are black women masculine-looking to you?
First link: She's just skinny and very tribal looking. Not necessarily masculine
Second link: Are wide hips and big boobs masculine? Seriously, just because she works out and has muscle tone doesn't make her masculine.
Thrid link: That's just scary looking
Fourth link: It's Naomi Campbell...seriously?
Feminine links:
First link: I would say having broad shoulders is definitely a masculine feature
Second link: okay, Selena Gomez...cool
Third link: I would say not having curves would be a masculine feature
Fourth link: No boobs
Fifth link: See Third35 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yYes group 2 is the most masculine. Yes wide hips is a feminine trait but overall the women in Group 2 are more masculine. one feminine trait doesn't do much if you have a dozen masculine traits.
I don't even think traits like big butt and wide hips are considered all that feminine anyway. Sure from a biological aspect, yes they are but societal views overrides biology when it comes to beauty. Otherwise women would be fine for women to go without shaving. These days, I think small breast and more lithe body is considered more feminine than a rubenesque body. The smaller maidenly body represents youth and youth is more beautiful than old age and beauty is feminine. A small maidenly body is feminine and in need of being protected. A big bulky body is strong and independent and can protect oneself. But that's okay because "certain women" pride themselves on masculine traits like a large body, independence, strength, so it should be a compliment to them.10 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI think to a large extent it is that they tend to cut their hair so short. Black women are far more likely to cut their hair extremely short, which is very masculine to most men. They are also more likely to live in poverty, and people that live in poverty are more likely to be overweight. An overweight woman soon loses her feminine features.
I have never heard of a study saying black men or women have higher testosterone levels than any other race. Such a study would be very controversial.
There could be a difference between black people in general, and African Americans because of the breeding that took place in American during times of slavery. I have heard that about 3/4 of all slaves gathered up to become slaves actually died before making in to the United States. So the weakest were all killed while only the strongest even made it over here in the first place. So there could be a difference between different groups of black people.11 Reply- +1 y
Most black women don't want short hair. It's short due to overuse of chemicals and weave, which causes damage to the hair and scalp
+1 yI found it odd that the whole entire masculinity links were all black females, nonetheless, I found link 2 and 4 in the masculinity more attractive than everyone else in the femininity section.
I think the difference is in body physique and fitness level which might increase their testosterone levels a bit , The femininity links are just slim and slender, they are mostly under weight while the others look more athletic Or in better shape than them.49 Reply- +1 y

- +1 y
well ya I'm sure you know on average black women have the highest testosterone levels and Asian women the lowest. White and Hispanic women are the middle so if you want single out by race, fine, but in that case it's not fair to put black women into a different category than all others, because testosterone and estrogen levels vary between other races too. It just makes you seem like you want to pick on black women

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yTestosterone is largely responsible for masculine traits in both physical appearance and personality in both genders.
Now, there are some here at GAG who would take offense at that "generalization" and would prefer to just not discuss it, even though it is a fact of life. Props to you for asking the question anyway. Fear of offending someone's delicate sensibilities is not a good reason to avoid a discussion.61 Reply- +1 y
Not much irks me more than the constant "generalization!" and that goes for every race and every culture.
2K opinions shared on Other topic. I wouldn't say that is strictly true, "feminine" features are more likely to be features that are more exclusively common in one gender than the other. I'd say thick thighs, big hips, bip lips etc are usually more associated with feminine. I personally didn't find any of the links that attractive but I'd say the "masculinity" ones have more feminine features

preferences aren't racism. Stating the obvious is not racism.
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yHalf the links in the "Feminity" section point to women who haven't feminine body structures. Women have curved bodies, the waist has to be clearly narrower than the hips, and some of those women are either straight lines or almost straight lines. Those are child bodies.

I think so, but some people are just ugly, they didn't evolve much from the Neanderthal days, good example I think is the features of venus/serena williams, he have wide noses go bringing in air, they can out run most people, they are very muscular and tall, most guys will lose a fight to serena williams

Opinion Owner+1 ylol way to spin that... I answered your question saying testosterone is responsible for masculine features in women, I did not say 'your photos are a great example of this subject'. You're clearly just trying to prove that black women are uglier and more masculine. or
- +1 y
The photos you linked were of white men.
And again, you answered the question. So you essentially agreed with me but you'd rather retract your agreement in order to not be judged
Opinion Owner+1 yStop trying to spin this into me agreeing that all black women have high testosterone and all white women have low testosterone, because that's not what I said. I'm part black, so how can I be biased for stating the truth on how black women are perceived?
Opinion Owner+1 yVery easily. Your color doesn't dissolve you of potential ignorance. Poor self-image within African American women is actually prevalent.
- +1 y
It's not about self image. It's about being realistic. This is how black women are perceived.
But considering white women have the highest rates of eating disorders I'm not too sure you're one to talk
Opinion Owner+1 yAbout their race. White women don't have eating disorders because they think their skin color is less attractive. They do it to fit the white model culture.
- +1 y
It's no different
You can try to flip it however you want, it's still about self esteem

Opinion Owner+1 yYes. Biased.

Not at all. Reality sucks
Opinion Owner+1 yEvery society has a different view of beauty. No its not objective.
- +1 y
Not really
Fair/pale skin, straight hair, symmetrical features are all pretty much the standards of beauty universally.
Body weight differs, but facially it's the same
If that were the case, then certain groups of women wouldn't wear horse hair or buy human hair from Korea. And certain other races wouldn't bleach their skin.
Opinion Owner+1 yAll subject to trends of the time.
- +1 y
Not at all
- +1 y
you know what, being 'part black' then you should know how hurtful this is. you keep claiming this is how society perceived black women, but you're perpetuating it. there are gorgeous black women out there and everybody knows it. there really is a problem with you. and I doubt that your any kind of black, because you wouldn't be trying to drag us down with you. and if you are, I feel sorry for you. because we're busy trying to make ourselves feel beautiful when there's enough people that don't.
