How to cheer up my boyfriend after pissing him off?

When the wrong button is pushed, it's like lighting the fuse on dynamite. Once it blows, everything is blasted to smithereens. I can't stand the girl after that. She might as well be wet feces for the next week or two.
Personally, I only get really upset when the underlying antithesis of the criticism is too deep rooted to explain in a few short sentences, so rather than try to explain why her criticism was unfounded, I keep my mouth shut as the fuse burns away and triggers internal combustion. I feel there's no way should could relate let alone empathize, which is a frustration in and of itself.
So, based on my personal insight as a man who can get very pissed off, you best sit down and ask him to explain every reason as to why he's upset and try to understand what he's going through. Most girls get intimidated by a guy blowing a fuse and run away. That's actually the wrong approach. You have to be a soldier for your man and run towards the danger. Defuse the anger before it blows up in your face. I hate it when a girl I trust runs away. It shows that she just doesn't get me on that level, which is a turn off.
thanks for your advise.
what did you do?
I think it really depends on the gravity of what you did but mostly you just fall on the sword so to speak. make it clear that you are sorry for your actions. maybe do something special for him, buy a little something, make dinner, give him a massage...etc.
but really the best apology is showing that you know you messed up and that you accept the responsibility of that and will try to do better in the future. That to me is what really speaks volumes
Well not knowing what you did I assume you just need to show by actions that you are genuinely sorry for whatever happened and show that it will not happen again, then just give him time to get over it. I really agree with Stitches about talking it out with him. Ask him how he feels about what happened and how he is feeling right now. Ask him if there's anything in particular that would make him feel better.

Best idea in the world but no sex.
Hmm.
We'd need to actually know what he's into, because the only thing we could guess otherwise is sex.
