Can guys put kisses (xxx) to female friends? Girls what does it mean to you if a male friend does this?

I'm saying, can guys put kisses to a female friend without her thinking he fancies her or something? I've never put kisses to her but she has to me many times. Recently I think she might've stopped doing so, maybe because I wasn't putting them? Is it possible she feels rejected? I mean we still have nice talks.. maybe she thinks I don't have enough love for her as a friend though? I don't want her to think that. One of the main reasons I haven't is because I simply keep forgetting, because ordinarily you don't just do it whenever, but more like at hellos and goodbyes, and I keep forgetting to do so. It just doesn't cross my mind at the time, frustratingly.

Do many guys put kisses though? Isn't it more of a girl thing? I would expect many girls are used to putting kisses without reciprocation, right? That they don't expect their guy friends to put them because.. they're guys.

I was thinking I should ask her how her exam went and put a kiss this time.

What does it mean when a girl leaves kisses to another anyway? It's either that she loves the person as a friend or that she has a crush on them or is dating them right? I mean, would they really do it to an acquaintance? And seriously, when doing it what do they expect back if indeed it is "a bit flowery for a guy.. almost a gay thing" as Dionysos said? I think people are far too hung up on such things. I mean the "do many guys ?" thing. If you're comfortable with it it's quite alright. If she doesn't understand how to interpret it, gets hung up on it and proceeds to keep quiet about while cultivating insecurity about your intentions you got far bigger communication problems. If you're so in the dark about how she'll react, let the bear sleep.

Why so? I have friends with whom I could most definitely write kisses at the end if I wanted to and they'd hardly take note of it. I know this because I know them well. Oh, and most people killed by bears in Sweden die because they poked down a sleeping bears lair with a stick or something. It's an expression that's probably not completely translatable.

Well that kinda depends on her right? I'm a heterosexual white male, I put "puss" (kiss) at the end of my texts to my best male friend. He doesn't think I'm gay, and I'm not.

If you want to catch her attention and get her thinking just be a bit more up front about it. Like I replied on another comment; just ask her out.

And to the update; no, I don't think there's a lot of people who probe all their friends of their sexually desired sex with ambiguous wording. It's either a sign of interest or just something she does because.. just because she does it that way.

I can't just ask her out - it's a long distance friendship. We don't actually see each other in person all that often.

Also I just remembered I had a guy friend who would put kisses to everyone, including me (it freaked me out a bit to be honest) and he was incredibly straight. ..I didn't really know what to make of it, still, it is so.

Only by now I would be reciprocating late because she doesn't put kisses anymore either because I didn't put them back or because she is now finding talking to me a chore and just replies to be nice and polite.
