Being embarrassed by computer background, am I the only one?

However, I think if something like this api.ning.com/.../...sIllustratedSwimsuit201111.jpg was my background it would be less embarrassing for a guy to have because it would be seen as more "normal." What do you think of this theory of mine as well as the title question?

I know another that has Martha Stewart.. and he says a lot "it's a good thing".. he gets rims all the time about "you're gay..." so what, he's gay, he's not, it's none of our business.. just like what you have or someone else has on their desktop.

"Normal" is what society has taught you. Just like who is weird, crazy and who is sane.

If you like it, who cares what others think. Embarrassed or not. You get that embarrassed feeling because your brain is telling you to feel wrong for feeling what you feel and you're worried about others judging you. Just do what you want.. it's your life.

Not 100% sure to be honest, but remember starting like 6th grade I was into girls in dresses/skirts more then it really took off in 7th grade. I just noticed them more and found them much more attractive. At some point this also involved more old fashioned stuff like that pic or like 1950's clothing.

It's no problem, not something I really get to talk about. Well, no girls in shorts are still attractive. It just all I see are shorts (yoga pants/leggings too) and they show a lot of leg or a skin tight. So even though I honestly wish they would dress nicer, classier and put more effort in I do look because as a guy I have to, it is hard not to. It's not easy being horny all the damn time. So I do like it because it is more modest and classy looking, girly, feminine and it's not something you see nowadays. Plus something about layers of clothing and lots of material does it for me. I am so fing weird, lol.

Hahahaha, not THAT weird. I think your fetish is something that most girls would be okay with. There are some guys who have a fetish for pee lmao. Now, that's kind of hard to work with. But I can't imagine any girl having a problem with dressing up in costumes like that, it can be a lot of fun. I like 1950s style clothing, but it really is hard to dress like that on a daily basis. It attracts a great deal of attention which can be hard to deal with.

Lol, I really don't want to know about how one would develop a pee fetish either =P. And yes, when I do dress like that, it's perceived as I'm dressed up for something, for some kind of event. That kind of clothing isn't very typical these days. There are some preppy girls that can dress like that all the time, but I don't really fall into that category lol

That's probably why girls (and guy too to a lesser extent) get comments like they if they dress up because at from why I see at my campus at least usually 85-95% of the girl are in shorts, leggings, yoga pants, jeans or sweatpants. I agree, petticoats can make the waist area look so tiny lol. But they can be bulky, hard to move around with and be completely comfortable. So there's pros and cons to it. I am in college, graduating this year =]

Right, sorry. I don't really dress up, typically just wear jeans, top, and boots. The weather is too cold for nice dresses or skirts.

I live in NY, super cold right now. When it's warm, I still wear similar clothing, I just don't wear the boots. More short-sleeved stuff. I was raised really conservatively so I don't wear shorts or short skirts in public.

One or two inches above the kneecaps (or lower) is ok. Above that, it's too short for me.

That's cool. The average skirt length nowadays seems to be mid thigh. Then there are occasionally maxi skirt/dresses. Not as much knee length stuff and nothing between knee and maxi length. I know, skirts these days are so short... sometimes I don't understand in why people wear them to begin with lol. I agree that there aren't that many options between the two extremes. There's a modern version of that kind of skirt, it's called a balloon skirt. I don't really like it that much because the shape is really, really exaggerated.

I know lol, it's kinda ridiculous. My friends do that all the time. The material that petticoats are generally made out of is very scratchy... it's not fun to sit on for an extended period of time. Plus, it can get bunched under you so it feels lumpy when you sit.

I think it's because they want to look like they just went to the beach, like they just got some sun. Tanning also covers up acne marks a bit, so that's another reason. Pantyhose are alright, but they tear SO easily. It's like... you spend $8-10 dollars on a pair and if it catches on your nails or a zipper or ANYTHING, you'll get a run in it and the whole thing is destroyed. I have lacy pantyhose but I only wear it for really special occasions because I don't want them to get ruined. Sitting around in pantyhose is very easy =P Actually going through a whole day where anything can cause a rip in them is the challenge.

I have, about 4 times. It was always really hard to get used to. I'd freak out the first day because it was always so different from home, but after a while, I'd acclimatize.

Is it a nice place? From what I have heard it doesn't sound like the greatest place to live because there is a lot of poverty and giant natural disasters.

It really depends. There are some resort areas, but a lot of the country is farmland with tiny villages scattered in between. There are big cities too, but poverty over there is tremendous. There are beggars walking through the streets, hitting on the windows of cars for money. The rich are very rich and the poor are very poor. And of course when it rains, flooding happens and lots of people can drown =/ So I have mixed feelings about it... You have to keep in mind, America has been independent since 1776, but Bangladesh only became independent just ~40 years ago... It's a new country, and it shows.

My mom's side of the family is Jewish and my dad's side is catholic, though most people in the family are not that religious. My great grandparents on both sides were the last ones not born in the U. S.

Well if you go back far enough everyone is like that obviously. Plus there is a lot of mixing like that in American since everyone is from different places. I guess that is true, a lot of people are of mixed European descent. In my culture, it's frowned upon to marry outside of your race, so I'm used to people only having one heritage. My parents are moderately religious. They pray a bit, we've all gone to Mecca once before, we don't eat pork products lol. But they aren't domineering. I know that in some Muslim families, the father is the boss, the daughters are subservient, etc. My family isn't like that. My dad's really sweet, my mom is the bossy one lol. My closest aunt and uncle, however, are way more religious.

LOL. Yeah, that's a bit difficult to do... Honestly, it was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. I went when I was 12. The street leading up to Mecca are made out of white marble. So clean, you wouldn't believe your eyes. There are dark red, richly embroidered carpets in the circular mosque surrounding the Kabaa. We would leave our hotel at like 5 or 6 in the morning to go pray, and I was only 12, so my mom let me sleep while she prayed. I'd wake up on the carpet to the sound of the azan, which is... insanely gorgeous. It's religious vocalizations- no idea what they were saying, but the guy's voice was so clear and pure. It sucks that non-Muslims can't go see it, it's a lovely place.

There was only one exit to this extremely popular ride which led to the air jet stage, thus forcing all riders on to the stage. The couple was greeted by a dwarf clown and a full size "Farmer" clown. Under the guise of assistance the dwarf clown gabbed the girl by her left hand, and the "Farmer" clown her right hand, leading her over the air jets but preventing her from holding down her skirt as an operator in a howdah on a fake elephant turned on the air jets to send her skirt waist high. Oh there were also apparently areas below were crowds would pay to watch.

And then you have to wear a petticoat, which has to be the same color of the sari itself, and then you take the edge of the sari, which is a huge rectangular piece of fabric and tuck it into the petticoat before wrapping it around your waist, over and over, before draping it across your chest and over your shoulder. Way more involved than one dress. It could take 1-2 hours to get it on right.

Well I don't really put pictures of women as my computer background like that, honestly I find doing that at all a bit strange. Put cars, space, something funny, etc. as your background or just stick with what you have. Honestly putting half-naked women as your background is just pathetic, far more than anything you could put.

If you're using your computer in a public place it would probably be best to have a wallpaper without stigma attached to it, as both of the links given might. If you're embarrassed by it, save yourself and change it. Perhaps to somehting from your favourite videogame/movie, or your favourite band/artist!

1. The photograph itself is ugly. It's a cheap snapshot, it's nothing special.
