It used to be the norm around the world to have children work jobs even at 5 years old.

Now, some societies seem to want to keep children away from work until they are well into adulthood at 25-30!

My mother took me to work instead of daycare before kindergarten, so I learned contracting work and fixing up houses by watching and helping her before I was even in school. Farmers, other contractors, and mechanics often do similar things with their children to teach them.

I’ve not made up my mind and am liable to go either way. I’m a custodian at a college. There are no classes tomorrow. We still work, though, which is fine, but I texted my boss to see if I can come in early. He said dress warm we will be shoveling snow and laying salt. My job does not pertain to outside and we even have maintenance men who know the yard during the summer, so why is snow my responsibility? This irks me cause it isn’t in my job description. Also, I live about 30 minutes away and it is snowing a ton and supposed to through the night and into tomorrow. I have time off I could take. What would you do?

@Dargil and I were having a heated discussion about what he calls our "Bloated Federal Government." Dargil wants to cut the amount of Federal employees by 75%. That part didn't really bother me, but then he said that Doctor Jill should ONLY be allowed to have two personal assistants, instead of 12. His reasoning is that since Doctor Jill doesn't actually do anything, she should be able to accomplish not doing anything with just two personal staff members. I disagree. I think the FLOTUS deserves at least 25 personal staff members to help her do whatever it is she does.
