Is it worth it to date a powerful person when they could turn their power against you one day?

I've heard nightmare stories of people dating doctors, police officers, politicians, lawyers, etc. When their relationship is on the rocks, or they divorce or break up, that person puts them through absolute hell that they can't even compete with because the person has so much power.

For example, there was a police officer who was only caught because her son had a sleep over and the child sleeping over witness her brutally beating her husband. What were the odds anyone would have believed him if it hadn't been a stranger's child who witnessed the incident? Or, the incident where the girl was shot in the head by her husband who's a police officer. And, the police didn't even properly investigate the incident. There's the family of lawyers down south who were murdering people.

Doctors and lawyers can sue their partner into the ground. Politicians and lawyers know legal loopholes and have connections. Doctors can hit you medically.

The ways powerful partners can hurt you are pretty brutal.

In any case, as said in "Star Wars": never trust a politician, because one day they will be friendly, which will most probably change into enmity when circumstances, political and other interests change.

A lawyer, why not, but in case of disagreement they can indeed become very nasty...

Still, nearly everything is possible when people sincerely trust and love each other. There are maybe general rules, but exceptions remain possible.

I have a few experiences dating women in position of power and it's all good in the beginning but always turn ugly towards the end. People in power loves to stay in power, even over their partners.

No matter they are powerful or not. We should be more caring about how far that person is having morality, integrity in themselves. Power can come and go. And even a person now with having no power at all still is powerful enough to ruin anyone with the power of cyber world. So it doesn't matter.

I've dated attorneys and none of them gave me drama, but of course be careful whether the person is powerful or seemingly not. Some of those "not-so-powerful" people can turn out to be nightmares or worse.

That can basically happen with anyone. A lot of people especially men are master manipulators. So personally I wouldn't be afraid to date him because he's doctor, lawyer or politician but because he's a man.
