Why Don’t Men Hate Being Single As Much As Women Do?

Why don’t men hate being single as much as women do? I know most men are marriage-minded underneath but they seem much less interested in getting into a stable, committed relationship than women do, and seem to drag their heels.

Some of the things I hate about being single are (in no particular order): lack of love, affection and emotional support; not having someone to go on vacation with; not having someone to share domestic tasks with; being excluded from social gatherings because I don’t have a partner; not having someone to talk to at home on a day to day basis; having to cope with the financial burden of being single (apartment, bills etc.); not having a regular source of quality sex available.

When I look at all my guy friends or exes, they seem to move on from relationships much more easily. When you look at the relationship between guys the idea of a friend starting to date seems to make him less popular with his friends. With my girlfriends all I do is talk about my boyfriend and theirs too. This just shows guys enjoy the single life and girls, not so much.

Very enjoyable first take Kikka, well done - What I have noticed is many guys are looking for a relationship just as much as girls maybe they don't talk about it as much - I can see it from both sides because many women in my circle say that my male friends and I are the most unmanly group of people they ever met - They say it in a good way meaning we are not that macho stereotype "guys" - So what are my male friends like, I can say that they all wanted relationships and in fact I am the only one single left, one other is forced single (separated).
I will go through your take bit by bit - I agree with you totally there is a big portion of men who are marriage minded (or at least settle down) underneath but my feeling is that many hide it because they are afraid of how maybe other men or even women (who men believe are attracted by the macho types) might view it.
Your whole second paragraph I bet truthfully most men would say "Yes I would like to have that as well".
Your last paragraph when I was younger part of me might miss a male friend who started dating but from my early 20s, I was glad if my friends found happiness in a relationship.
Sometimes on here some users go mad if they feel you are bashing the single life so I have to clarify that some people like to be single.
Anyway back to your take, good job on writing such a thought provoking piece.

Good first take. At first I thought this was a question based on the punctuation at the end of the titlle LOL. Also good that it's short and to the point (good for me).

As for me, I'm still coming out of my shell. I know that I have a way to go yet, I'm just glad I'm not where I was at the beginning of this journey. I like the quote you posted as well. I've never had a LTR. Yes, I DO want a gal that I could just wake up next to one day and think / ask myself "I must have done something right in order to 'deserve' her. Until that day comes, I'll just be living my life and wondering... And waiting.

For me personally it has at times. Then one day I just thought, "oh screw it... I'll just enjoy live and do what I want to do." Yes, I can be goofy and silly at times (you should see me during a workout class or when I'm spinning 🚴🏽. I'm an introvert by nature with extroverted tendencies so I get what you're saying about someone to share your life with. She just hasn't entered my life yet. I'm in a good place with myself now (not always the case) and ready to mingle.

Being single is not an easy thing to do. But men who are used to it , know that there are no better options. So they try to make peace with the situation. And ensure that they can remain happy even if they are single. But deep in their heart they are still open for relationship. From the outside women may feel , that they don't care for relationship. But they have a loving heart that nobody knows about.

I'm not sure but the most valuable part of a relationship is a family, so until I'm ready for that I don't really see what there is to gain from a relationship. Regular sex, yes, but I guess guys are just use to being horny and getting what comes there way whether its once a week or once a month lol
