5 Reasons Why I Enjoy Having a Gamer Boyfriend

In this day in age video games have been becoming very popular among teens and young adults, gamers are growing in numbers everyday. Here is some reasons why I think having a gamer boyfriend is fun!

1. He Doesn't Give Up

Even if he's not playing a game and struggles to do something he will always see it through. He's always happy to help out and solve problems, if something is wrong I can always count on him to help fix it. Gamers never fuss about a problem they work until they can fix it!

2. He Loves To Play With Friends

It's no secret every man or woman wants friends to hang out or even play a game with. With a gamer boyfriend I don't have to worry about waiting for a turn, I know there is a controller waiting for me when I want to play. He's very happy to play with me and that makes me feel happy, it bonds us together even more over a good game.

3. He's Not Clingy

By far the best thing about dating a guy who is a gamer is he lets you have free space! I can go out with friends without him crying over my shoulder and asking when I'll be home. He's totally cool with it, and when I do come home we usually hang out and play games together with zero drama. We can give each other space and it won't be a big deal.

4. He Compromises

It's so easy to get along with him, nothing is ever a problem when we can agree on just about anything or come to a compromise. "Want to play Call of Duty?" He will ask and if I'm not feeling like it I'll say "That's cool, but I want to play Battlefield" So we end up agreeing after a couple of matches in CoD we switch to Battlefield, or even the opposite where we play my game first together. It's not hard to compromise with a gamer.

5. He Doesn't Require Much Maintenance

He doesn't want anything fancy, he doesn't require constant attention, and best of all we don't argue about where we go to eat or what we order. He doesn't care about fancy outfits or the best looking cars, he just lives the basic lifestyle and is the one guy in the world who can rock super mario pajamas while playing games! :D He rocks that carefree look which to me I absolutely love.

Oh my goodness, when a new update comes out or a new game, my boyfriend is lost to the world for a while, haha. It's ok though he can have his fun.

As a gamer girlfriend with a gamer boyfriend I totally love this. I met my boyfriend online through games. I'd say this is pretty spot on really. I get plenty of free time to myself and so does he because it works both ways. If he wants some space then that's fine I'll go play League for a few hours and then we'll hang out afterwards watching a film or something :D Sometimes it is a little hard to drag him away from his computer and into the real world but I'm sure I'm the same as well lol

@Infynis lmao I did though technically. A guy I was friends with at college met him on WoW about 10 years ago. I was a bit of a gamer girl so I used to join them when they played League of Legends (which was pretty much every night) and that's how we met. After a while I knew the group pretty well and was a full time member lol. Played all sorts of different games with them. Started talking to the guy more 1 on 1 (nearly put 1v1 then lmao oops).. 4 years later we admitted we'd liked each other for 2 years an finally met up in person. Not long after he asked me out.

Yes, but it's also the reason why I love him. :) He can be a mature gamer, that's something hard to find in relationships like these. I'm fortunate to have him in my life. :) Thank you for your opinion.

I honestly don't see how all of these traits have a relation with being a gamer except 2.
I'd say gaming teaches logical/strategical thinking, multitasking and maybe a bit of education depending on the game. And reflexes. That's all.

Some good coop games are pretty good for this kind of relationship like Resident Evil 5, 6, Killing Floor and some other titles!

It's cool. Love games. Played them for years. But I tend to notice most of the ambitious women above 25 are defiantly not a fan of her hubby playing video games

I like more chill puzzley games without scary music and killing like the great Escape rooms but they make my eyes red o.0 I used to watch my brother play all kinds of arcade games when younger, my fave was this ninja game can't remember the name. He drained quarters like nothing.

Very true. It's true of a lot of hobbies but games can be more social than people realise. I'd hate to be the guy you describe who feels hopeless and helpless when his girlfriend wasn't there.
