  I assume you are referring to the devil as some sort of entity, and responded that you are thinking too literally. Was I wrong, when you hear the word devil, or satan, do you imagine people are speaking of an entity? Something with a shape, a face, perhaps a voice? Maybe some horns? Is that not what you imagine or was I completely wrong?
  
  I get the sense that you are purposefully trying to misunderstand me, I'm not sure why, but is that what you are doing? Maybe you're not comfortable with archetypes and the idea of personifying intangible aspects of our world as a way of adapting our language to be able to handle such immaterial content
