Typically women will claim a lower number of sex partners than the number men claim. Therefore, as a group, one or both are lying. That is because, ignoring homosexual sex and assuming a equal number of men and women, the average number (mean) of sex partners is identical for men and women. It is impossible to be otherwise. However, there can be a considerable difference in the median.
Using the foregoing assumptions, any posters claiming that the average (mean) is not identical are math challenged and are too foolish not to show their ignorance.

Let me enlighten you to another factor,
Woman above 30+ rarely date or have any sex BUT woman in their 20's have Male demographics of 30+(which they prefer due to Money and stability) and guys below 30-up to 20 available to them, whom they date and have sex with.

@AlphaGhost Instead of stating a number of facts that are irrelevant to the averages I stated. Post an example using an equal number of men and women with whatever number of sex partners you choose for each person and show that the average number of sex partners for the men and women in your example are not the same. I guarantee you will not post any such example since it is impossible to choose any combination with an equal number of men and women where the averages (mean, not median) are not identical.

However, since you are math-challenged, I'll you a far-out example of why it must be true. 10 women and 10 men. I will use your example of women choosing men in the top 20%. Each of 2 men have sex with all 10 women and the other 80% of the men have sex with no women. Each of 2 men have sex with all 10 women, totaling 20 sex partners divide by 10 men equals an average of 2 sex partners per man. All 10 women have sex with 2 men which obviously averages 2 sex partners per woman.
Hopefully, you are not so math-challenged that you can't follow and understand that example. It matters not what combination you choose, every time a woman has another sex partner, so does a man.

When i say high i mean 1000 or more. Think prostitutes and gang bang girls. So say a study removes sex workers either on purpose or by inadvertently not being asked to them by circumstance... that avgs women way down compared to men whose numbers still include sex workers.
Also. Men are usually older. So say you ask couples in your study. Older people have more time to rack up partners. For example im 34 and am in triple digits, my girlfriend is 18 and a single digit. But who knows she could be in triple digits by my age if we dont work out. So just asking couples could yield similar results where men have higher numbers.
Yeah y'all examples with 10 men and 10 women in a closed system have to equal but this isn't a closed system. Both factors i provided can in whole or part explain the discrepancy.

It doesn't matter if the numbers are 10 or 10 billion, assuming an equal number of males and females, the average number of male to female sex partners is identical. The world is a closed system but more males are born making the average number of sex partners for women slighter higher. However, the average may be considerable different than the median and perhaps you are most people are more interested in the median number.
If you lop off the extremes, people, including infants with zero sex partners and those with extremely high counts, the imbalance may be greater than the ratio of male to female births. Then if you only count the sex partners from with the remaining sample the average number of sex partners is inversely proportional to the ratio of males and females.
However, in the remaining sample, if you include as sex partners, sex with men and women with very high counts, that are not included in the sample, obviously that will increase the average counts. In any event, I don't know what the resulting averages are and it is probably impossible to know.
I do know that for a one-night stand, women demand exceptionally attractive partners. Men are not as choosy. An above average guy will have sex with average and below average girls but the reverse seldom happens. Therefore, in my opinion, if you don't count as sex partners’ sex with prostitutes and other extremely high count females the average and below average males will have fewer sex partners than average and below average females and the well average males will have the highest averages.

But she was fucking id say about 5 men a day on average and working damn near every single day. But usually one of them was a repeat. So lets say 300 days x 4 = 1200 men per year. And further round down to 1000. Per year! So her count could easily be 10,000 men. she's 38 now i think. So she's a high count woman. Im 34 and i have consistently been having sex with women since i was 16, and am above average attractive. Im never not dating someone. And on average fuck about 15 new girls per year. Which puts me at 18 years x 15 equals 270. Im a very high count male. Notice my number is nowhere near my friends. Men date down for sex but they seldom marry down. Down means less desirable and a beautiful girl, even if her family is poor, has high value. Young women want the best they can date so typically they chase after the hottest guys that will fuck them and reject guys within their league. Which in turn can have consequences in the future when you DO plan on getting married. And if you don't plan on getting married, it still leads to other consequences that I've mentioned in the take
