At a biological, evolutionary, scientific and anthropological level we are ALL "polyamorous" by DEFAULT.
97% of all mammals are poly with noted incidences of polyamory in the other 3%. But look at our closest mammalian relatives, the Chimps and Bonobos who share 98% the same DNA as humans. Neither one is monogamous. This monogamy horse sh-t doesn't work most of the time because people are unaware of their biological imperatives. They have been brainwashed to think that monogamy is the quintessential form of relational bliss, so they're shocked when that biology hits them in the face a few years into a monogamous relationship / marriage.
There are always outliers and 'exceptions' but that doesn't disprove the rule. Over 50% of married couples end in divorce, over a 40 year period the statistic is actually 67% of FIRST marriages terminate (that's just FIRST marriages, the stats are higher on subsequent marriages, so you're better off statistically staying with your FIRST) with most not reaching their 8th year anniversary. This is only the official number, it doesn't include the couples STILL TOGETHER, living in misery, having no sex, living like roommates, hating each other, cheating on each other, etc.. or simply staying together because kids are involved or for fear of social stigma (what family, friends, etc.. would think about them). So when you cut through all the layers of the onion, you have maybe 10 to 15% who are actually having a happy healthy long-term marriage? I'm no economist, but a 10% or so chance that your investment goes belly up would be a foolish thing to invest in, right?
@Chthou95 except who decides they're exceptions? People no based off studies? Do you get how studies are done? They study a small sample of the population and then claim it's the majority
Not every study is the same. Unless that's just something you made up. There are always exceptions to the general rule but those exceptions don't break the rules. And some studies gather information from thousands of people. It's not like they're just gathering information based on 20 or 30 people
@Chthou95 kinda like you keep refuting any man that dishes with what you're saying by saying they're lying or the exception🤔🤣 the point is you're going off studies/surveys, and people are telling their real life experiences, what carries more weight?
Real life wins over stats and data that have been in development for years. And you seem to deny that men are biologically hardwired to have sex with as many women as possible. It's in our genes. Not everything in life is sunshine and rainbows. Things won't go the way you expect them to
hmmm... I'm openly poly-amorous! I also know quite a few women who are! So I think it really depends on how you are wired as a person. Where I draw the line is not being honest about it and hiding it (effectively cheating) no matter who you are. I also respect monogamy and not pass any judgements.
Honestly, don't believe that line, men or women, I think those are the ones that use it as an excuse when they get caught cheating. I just think the ones that don't stay with just one are not happy with themselves
Why not just replace the pronouns with the word human. Cheating, having multiple partners, etc is not a male or a female problem. It is a HUMAN problem that leaves broken families and hearts in its wake!
I agree and I asked that same thing.. And it's some men that are saying it's not in a man's nature while still expecting their partner to remain faithful smh
Monogamy leads to a more successful and prosperous society. The proof is in how successful the United States and primarily the West became because this form of relationship building was encouraged. It is unraveling now though, which is why the US and the West is coming apart.
Its not just my opinion, it is an observable fact. Its not like I have the funding or the research team and data analyzers to conduct a university study.
What's more important to you Sex with multiple people to prove your value or worth because you believe it makes you look more macho/manly, more of a success to say you can get, have had multiple women/men?"
It was a man that said that, and I've seen other men on here say the same thing. And I think it's bullshit as well and discredits the good men that aren't that way...
What do I care for what someone else assumes to be in my nature? General statements of the form "it's not in the nature of men/women to be..." are, I dare say, always bullshit. An attempt to give some half-assed explanation to certain behaviour.
Largely an excuse, but perhaps partly true. Pretty much every guy I know, including my husband and brothers, has been with more than one woman. (A lot of us have been with more than one guy.) Eventually, like hubby and like my brothers, they settle down with one woman.
Everybody is different I don't think this is a men or women thing because both cheat. Actually women cheat more but that's only because sex is impossible to get for men
I fantasize about sleeping with the same kind healthy woman every night until we grow old but she left because there was another man exactly like be but with more money
But why could you post that meme, but GAG censored my title because it SAID: True statement or bullshit excuse, but that removed the shit from bullshit. smh but all the sexist insults and users swearing AT people they don't remove
B. S. excuse! I mean yes we're animals but we are evolved animals. Unfortunately only some of us have climbed a little higher on the evolutionary tree. 🤣
I believe every man is different. I'm monogamous and see that juggling women or having a rotation is more of a headache due to possible drama and health reasons.
I agree all men are different, why I hate when some men use that it's not in a man's nature, to make it like it's okay cuz all men are that way, when they're not.. Bad enough when people generalize the opposite sex, but to generalize your gender just to excuse your negative actions, that's even worse. And it's not so much not believing in our not being monogamous, it's when they go after those they know are into monagomy and just lie it deceive to get their way where it becomes a problem/wrong
Good thing, contrary to what "some people" think, there are level headed women out there that go by a man's own words/personal actions than to label/ judge all men based on the actions of "some"
True again. Everyone should be measured by their actions and ability to keep to their words and promises. Not by past experiences they had nothing to do with
When I set out, a lifetime ago, I wanted one special girl to love and do everything for. The two times that I was in love, I had no interest in touching another woman.
Complete bullshit, any real man has the right qualities and way of thinking that supports monogamy. Guys who play around or can't respect a woman enough to be committed to the relationship, paint the rest of us in a sexist and douche-like light.
It’s BS. All that means is that he doesn’t want to be fully yours and either he doesn’t know what he wants, he doesn’t wanna deal with breaking up with you, or he’s just trying/succeeding in being a d***.

If that's the case, how do you explain the men and women that are able to remain monogomous for twenty, forty, fifty, etc years?
There are always outliers and 'exceptions' but that doesn't disprove the rule.
Over 50% of married couples end in divorce, over a 40 year period the statistic is actually 67% of FIRST marriages terminate (that's just FIRST marriages, the stats are higher on subsequent marriages, so you're better off statistically staying with your FIRST) with most not reaching their 8th year anniversary. Exceptions don't disprove the rule. Couldn't agree more man

@Chthou95 I'm not the one making things up here🤣
@Chthou95
Oh and thousands of people huh, but there's billions of people in the world, yeah that's an accurate assessment of ALL people smh
Thousands, thousands and thousands of people.. That's a large amount. I could have millions and youd refute and say billions.
@Chthou95 kinda like you keep refuting any man that dishes with what you're saying by saying they're lying or the exception🤔🤣 the point is you're going off studies/surveys, and people are telling their real life experiences, what carries more weight?

@Chthou95 🤣🤣🤣 okay then lolol
hmmm... I'm openly poly-amorous! I also know quite a few women who are!
So I think it really depends on how you are wired as a person.
Where I draw the line is not being honest about it and hiding it (effectively cheating) no matter who you are.

EXACTLY!! thank you!
Bullshit excuse, I've seen many men be loyal and faithful to their wife or husband whatever they prefer
Right! EXACTLY! So have I, my husband of twenty years included in that.
That's so awesome I hope I find my forever guy
I hope you do too💛🙏
I'm sure that a man who will only loves his wife forever than he's going to be very wild after marriage 😂😂
The spongy forehead is dangerous so i need some super powers to be able to coexists with her spni don't get old and whiped 🤣🤣
Honestly, don't believe that line, men or women, I think those are the ones that use it as an excuse when they get caught cheating. I just think the ones that don't stay with just one are not happy with themselves
I agree
@onlylonelygal That's just something you have to tell yourself so you can ignore the truth
Yeah that's bullshit. Has nothing to do with your gender or sex, some people are monogamous and some people aren't.
EXACTLY!!
Monogamy leads to a more successful and prosperous society. The proof is in how successful the United States and primarily the West became because this form of relationship building was encouraged. It is unraveling now though, which is why the US and the West is coming apart.
@Cjbruser that's the norm. There's not much data to show the other side. So this is just your opinion 🙂
@Cjbruser I agree!
Its not just my opinion, it is an observable fact.
Its not like I have the funding or the research team and data analyzers to conduct a university study.
@Cjbruser so then it's not fact... It hasn't been researched... It's a theory
What's more important to you Sex with multiple people to prove your value or worth because you believe it makes you look more macho/manly, more of a success to say you can get, have had multiple women/men?"
I'd be fucked if that's your view on polyamory
Where did I say that,🤔🤷🏼♀️ more the views of a player or fuckboy
I see
Completely disagree. And it's kind of a sexist thing to assume too (whoever initially said that), not that I care.
It was a man that said that, and I've seen other men on here say the same thing. And I think it's bullshit as well and discredits the good men that aren't that way...
plain and simple... bullshit excuses for when you get caught, most likely
Right!!!
What do I care for what someone else assumes to be in my nature? General statements of the form "it's not in the nature of men/women to be..." are, I dare say, always bullshit. An attempt to give some half-assed explanation to certain behaviour.
Right!!!

@RebeccaSJ Only if they can't get any others
@Vegasrunner No, eventually hey find one. Hubby did. My brothers did.
Monogomy isn't some gender specific trait.
Some guys are monogomous some are polyamorus. And that's fine.
But what's not fine is using polyamory as an excuse to cheat, cause that ain't polyamory.
Right!! Nor is cheating in a monagomous relationship and then thinking they get a pass "cuz it's not in man's nature"..
Exactly
Anyone who says monogamy isn't in a man's nature is a walking red flag
Right!! I agree
Everybody is different I don't think this is a men or women thing because both cheat. Actually women cheat more but that's only because sex is impossible to get for men
I fantasize about sleeping with the same kind healthy woman every night until we grow old but she left because there was another man exactly like be but with more money
Sorry you went through that, but not all women will do that
I think it is definitely bull excuse. But...
《 "Men aren't meant to be monogamous, it's not in their nature"... 》
Well, then, if we think in this direction, I think that most people also who criticize about the right of Muslim men to have 4 women are hypocrites.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
But why could you post that meme, but GAG censored my title because it SAID: True statement or bullshit excuse, but that removed the shit from bullshit. smh but all the sexist insults and users swearing AT people they don't remove
I don't know
Maybe someone didn't catch it
B. S. excuse! I mean yes we're animals but we are evolved animals. Unfortunately only some of us have climbed a little higher on the evolutionary tree. 🤣
🤣🤣 right lolol
I believe every man is different. I'm monogamous and see that juggling women or having a rotation is more of a headache due to possible drama and health reasons.

Exactly. Women already have enough initial distrust in men as it is and yet, morons will continue to exploit as if they did nothing wrong
Good thing, contrary to what "some people" think, there are level headed women out there that go by a man's own words/personal actions than to label/ judge all men based on the actions of "some"
True again. Everyone should be measured by their actions and ability to keep to their words and promises. Not by past experiences they had nothing to do with
True true
When I set out, a lifetime ago, I wanted one special girl to love and do everything for.
The two times that I was in love, I had no interest in touching another woman.
That's good to hear👍😊
Complete bullshit, any real man has the right qualities and way of thinking that supports monogamy. Guys who play around or can't respect a woman enough to be committed to the relationship, paint the rest of us in a sexist and douche-like light.
But thankfully there's women that know ALL men aren't that way, like yourself
Aww you're too kind :)
Not really lolol 😂
