Saying I love you after break up?

My boyfriend broke up with me a few days ago but he didn't make it clear because that night when he told me he was going to bed he said the normal: "good night sweet dreams I love you so f***ing much :)"

The next day we didn't talk at all and I wasn't sure if we were really broken up or not since he said he loved me. So, the day after that I finally texted him asking if we were still together and he just said "no" but then later he got online and imed me saying he thought that would be best. After not really saying anything else, he sends me random things to read, just as if we were still together or something. Then he tells me he's going to bed and says the normal again.

I don't understand why he keeps saying this if he wants to break up. Is it because he just feels guilty for hurting me or is it because he isn't sure what he wants?

P.S.

When we were fighting before he broke up with me he told me that he hasn't wanted me for a while now, but it's been on and off. That really hurt me but then after he cooled down later he told me he didn't mean it. I'm not sure if I believe that he didn't mean it because I've kind of felt like he hasn't on and off for a while now too.

Guys especially, what does all of this mean?

Ask him why he keeps saying and doing the same things if your supposedly broken up. I'm afraid he thinks that breaking up with you won't mean much and that you will stay the same way you were before and that's a bad thing. You have to show him that when he's got you its different than when he hasnt, because if he thinks you'll stay the same its better for him to be single and free and still get the same thing he was getting when he was in a relationship. So ask him and make it clear to him that you won't be the smae person because brfore you were his girlfriend and that is different. Gl,

if he keeps telling you the same thing then you text him asking why he keeps telling you that. & if he saids I don't know tell him to stop.

I did ask and he just said "because" and when I asked again his response was "whatever I just won't say it then"

You know what's happening to him? he's just confused there should be another girl around that he likes but maybe he likes you even more so he doesn't know what to do I recomend you playing he's own game do the same he does to you and best thing you can do is make him jealous trust me .

Ok thanks. Do you think I should go ahead and change my status on MySpace and top friends and stuff? Because I haven't done that yet because it makes it seem like that's what I WANT, you know? Do you think that would make him think that he better fix things if he really wants me or would that just make it where he doesn't care?

Well yea I think you should go ahead btw he might act like he does not care about anything but one way you would notice he does is if he gets mad or star talking to you about how you have change and all the stuff aniways he's going to be jealous trust me and of course he's going to think about fixing things .

Well I changed everything and it says he signed into MySpace today but he hasn't talked to me at all today. He didn't talk to me at all yesterday either.

Should he have already said something to me if it really bothered him? Or should I give it a little more time to let it bother him, if it will?
