Is it too much to ask for? Does a love like that really exist?

I want a love that's epic. Earth shattering and mind blowing. A love that's unapologetic and real. Not something that you see in a movie or read in books. Those are fictional characters made up to express people's own desires on love and what they want out of life and love... Does love like that truly really exist? People easily mistake love for lust and infatuation thinking and believing that the bliss will last forever but what if it all comes crashing down one day where would you be left? Would that 'special' person still be in ur life after u've hit rock bottom? I want a love that's so overwhelming and empowering. A love that makes me happy beyond my dreams. It doesn't always have to be all hearts and flowers. Yes there will be arguing and disagreements but that should only make you stronger and make ur relationship better than it was before because u've overcome a major hurdle and it should be celebrated with the one you love. Your one epic love.. Earth shattering... Blind blowing.. and unapologetic love

I want what you want as well. I don't know if love exists the way you describe it. But I certainly think it exists and that when you find it, which you will then you will be a happier you.

I don't think love is too much to ask for but I think people often associate finding the "perfect" person with love.

Its not about finding the "perfect" guy or woman; its about finding the perfect guy for you. Never give up on love. I think "finding" true love which it seems is your goal is about finding yourself in a way. Knowing your personality, habits, and values. After you know yourself pretty well then its all just about meeting people, finding places to meet potential dates.

See which ones are 'genuinely' interested mesh well with your personality and values. Finding Love is a journey, the destination will be rewarding but the journey of "self-discovery" you go on to get there should also be enjoyable.

But what if you spend ur whole life looking person that has ur same interests.. Morals and Values only to realise that you missed out on so many incredible guys cos u were looking for 'the best one' instead of 'The one' or what if you settle for less only to discover ur one epic love after u've already started and devoted you love to someone else... Love is complicated and scary..

There is no such thing as the "best" guy or woman. "The one" is the best one for you. When you're in a "loving" relationship then your focus should be on that relationship and if this person is right. If it truly is a "loving relationship" then a guy or woman won't be worried if a better "prospect" comes along because they're satisfied.

You don't have to be "in love" with every guy you date or go out with, that's why we date or court people. We are exploring if this person is right and if they aren't then we can leave. It doesn't have to be so dramatic, then when we find the right person after befriending them, dating them, and getting to know them that's when we can say we're "in love".

Yes it is scary but you just have to think with your "brain" not your instincts.

Yeah, no problem, just because you date someone doesn't mean this person is your "true love", they may or may not be.
Like the Lionel Richie song, "Love will find a way!"
It'll come don't try and force it, it'll happen, don't look for it. Friendship & Dating comes before love so focus on those two things first.

My problem is i thought i found that love.. Then he became distant and wanted a break saying he need to focus on himself and can't do relationships right now.. dated 6 years only to be thrown away like i meant nothing to him. He wants to focus on his work and his friends and can't do all of that while making time for a gf too soooo he let me go. Says it's a break and not a break up but same difference

I am not trying to go against you, but when a guy says that then that means that he wasn't a good partner. A guy who makes a good partner will set time aside to work on the relationship.

To me it sounds like this guy was making excuses and afraid of commitment which means he wasn't ready. You can take from this that when you date a guy don't wait for him to want to commit to you, the right guy knows you are the one for him. Don't rush the relationship but if he doesn't have plans for you two being together in the future then his intentions aren't serious.

A guy who is serious will try to progress the relationship. Usually this takes at least 6 months usually around a year or two. But don't think about these things, often, when dating early on, just see how serious a guy is about the actual relationship. See if he seems to want to be with you in the future.

See and that's the sad thing. Why not? It all comes down to our interpretation of love. You are the own restricting it. You are the one that says it can't happen. Do u get what i mean? Our idea of love have become so obscure that in a couple of years time love will mean 'opening a car door' or "helping a girl into her seat' when way back when that was just common decency of guys to do so. It showed respect. Now toy hold door open for a girl and she's all like "Sorry i have a boyfriend" instead of saying thank you coz to her it's not about respect or being kind. It's a hit on

Well its not too asking for too much. I want it too. But finding a love like that is difficult. And from what I've realized till now is its not about finding a love like that, it's about finding the person whom you wanna sepd ypur life with. You have to MAKE your love into something like that, dont just wait around and hope that its gonna one day walk up to you.
