Boyfriend doesn't want to take me to prom?

So this is a bit confusing one. I am one year older than my boyfriend, I am in college while he is still in high school. We've been dating for 3 years on and off. We first dated for 2 years until something happened, we broked up and he was with a new girl. During this time I had prom ad I couldn't take him because we weren't together. We recently got back together and now he is going to have his prom. at first he said he was going to take me and that it was going to be great because we couldn't go to his, however now he is saying he won't take me. Not only this but his behavior has kinda changed, when I comfort him about it telling him that I will leave him, he looks like he doesn't understand what I am saying. I don't know what to think.

It sounds as though he has had a change of heart, a change of plans here, dear, For--------His behavior has kinda changed.
He is making lame duck excuses for not wanting to show up with you at his prom and it may be because the 'New girl' he was dating may be there and he doesn't want any confrontations with her nor you. He has his reasons and with him acting peculiar, I am quite sure he know what they are and will tell you everything but the truth.
If he feels this strongly, then let it go. He may change his mind. If he doesn't, if you value your relationship that you both just got back into, don't press on this because you want to dance the night away.
He has not only two left feet, The sixthelement, but is tongue tied besides.

He said that he wasn't sure and he changed the answers. At first it was that he had no money, now it is that he doesn't want me to fight with and ruin his night

That's weird, I think if your his girlfriend he should wanna take you, besides why do you need money for prom?
