Are some girls afraid to fall in love and if so why?

Yes, definitely. I'm afraid for a few reasons- but they don't always stop me from falling. The most obvious one of course is that it really, really hurts when your world comes crashing down when love ends unexpectedly. I remember spending almost a year getting over my first real love- which was as long as we were together!

But also, I'm a really private person and I don't let a lot of people all the way in. I find it pretty scary to let people into my private world where I'm vulnerable. I tend to keep most people at arm's length because, well, basically I have trust issues. There are a few people in my life I trust with my whole heart and soul, but it's very hard for me to let someone else in to that circle. Love is scary because if I truly want someone to love me, I have to let them in all the way and what if they DON'T like what they find? What if they hate it? For me, love is a huge leap of faith and it takes awhile before I'm ready to jump off that cliff and trust to fate.

So yeah, for me, love can be pretty damn scary. But it can be really wonderful too, and as much pain as it's caused, I really don't regret ever having fallen in love.

ya I was raised to basically think I didn't deserve affection so now when someone genuinely cares about me that's very hard to accept like I don't deserve affection etc. this was also blown way otu of propoartion after 2 sexual assaults and a couple relaly unhealthy relationships.

and not all girls ahave expereinced all these things but one or 2 to some degree.

i don't want to be hurt. I never felt love before so I don't know what it would be like and I don't know if I deserve a relationship like that. I only wanna fall in love if we're gonna be together forever

they get hurt a lot. guys get hurt a lot but girls get hurt a lot worse most of the time. fall in love once, and get pushed away. sucks.

Yes, well some because some fall in love and get played and then they're scared to fall in love again

Falling in love is great, falling out of love is not so great. I'm not afraid of falling in love I'm afraid of what will happen after it doesn't work out. Been there once before and it sucked!
