Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI think being ignored hurts far more. When someone reads your messages and just never replies. A good friend of mine that I had a crush on for 12 years and I just recently hooked up. We were both drunk and as soon as we got back to his place, we ended up pretty much attacking each other. Mind you, it was a long time coming. We had dragged it out and put it off for years because he didn't want to hurt me (Not a relationship type). However, it happened and I tried contacting him about a week later and he straight out ignored me. Needless to say he read every single message I sent and after a month of no contact and ignoring me, I finally snapped and freaked out on him. He finally got ahold of me but at this point its too late. Don't ignore me. Plain and simple.

Asker+1 ySorry he treated you that way. For me it's like he talks when he feels like it, so if I text him saying hi or how was your day. He just ignores me 😞
Opinion Owner+1 yIt sucks :( This guy I was referring to now only gets ahold of me when he wants to hook up. Its pretty sad that we can go from a 15 year friends and 12 years of me liking him to him only wanting me for sex and me having no interest in him whatsoever.
Asker+1 yYeah. My guy too. The only difference is that we weren't friends for that long. I think your situation is more sad then mine in that case, but it still hurts the same. I would just give him radio silence
Opinion Owner+1 yOh I have been lol I haven't spoken to him.

Both hurts a lot especially when you don't know the reason behind them. However, blocking partially gives you closure and you would know that they won't receive any messages from anymore. On the other hand, ignoring you will put you on a limbo, knowing your messages have reached their end but they chose to ignore them

+1 yDepends on who is ignoring me but ignoring is worse. Since you don't know what's going on.
Though I wish some people would block me instead of leaving messages that make them sound like stuck up cunts. It's really annoying since they use anonymous to hide. -_-26 Reply
Asker+1 yBut if someone ignored you and you ignored them back, shouldn't they have some sort of clue?
- +1 y
Not really since who knows what the reason is they are ignoring. They could be ignoring due to not being able to answer, don't want to talk atm, not sure what to say right now, dealing with something huge in their life, don't have the guts to tell them they don't want anything to do with them, etc . The list could go on and on.
A lot of people do suck at being blunt and straight forward when it comes to true feelings that aren't that pleasant.
Asker+1 yHe texted me first. Then when I responded asking him how his day went. He ignired me for the rest of the day. I texted him right back. I just feel like those are all excuses. Im sure he had one minute out of a whole day to even text "busy right now". That dosent even take a full minute. If he wanted to respond he could have.

Maybe he forgot to reply back?
Asker+1 yI sent him 2 text. And he's always om his phone so..
- +1 y
Then he's probably ignoring you or doesn't feel like talking.
Blocked to me is the ultimate slap in the face. You know that person is done with you when they want no sign of you. I've done it to people who've hurt me and I've had people do it to me. I can handle being ignored. It's easier for me to just say Ok whatever.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yBeing ignored would be worse. With being blocked at least I know what's going on and know to move on. But you know what's even better than both of those? Just say you don't want to talk anymore, it's actually polite that way.

Asker+1 yThe last time I told him that he got all nasty with me, so I want to avoid that
Opinion Owner+1 yIf that's the case, you tell him, then you block him. He'll at least get to know why and everything is in order.

+1 yI can't say. They both hurt. And I likely wouldn't put up with either one. Communication is key. If she doesn't want to talk, she should tell me and I will respect it.

10 ReplyWhen someone ignores me, I can still see their posts and activities online, and has seen my messages but chose to ignore it.
At least when someone blocks me, I cannot see them anymore, no updates or anything. And I guess that's fine. Easier to move on.

But if I'm ignored, it means they are hearing what I say but choose to cut me off.40 Reply- 2.3K opinions shared on Relationships topic.
+1 yIt's just uncivil to block people just because they disagree with you. I never harass people, so they're blocking me for no other reason.

+1 yBlocked it worse. If they ignore you it can mean they forgot to answer you or maybe they just don't want to talk... but if they block you it means they really hate you and don't want any kind of contact with you
30 ReplyBlocked.. because if someone has blocked you there's literally no going back. It's done. If they're ignoring you, there's still a chance things can work out..
50 ReplyBeing blocked is like being ignore taken to the next level. It's information asymmetry where the other party (typically the woman) has all the reasons and has checked out of the relationship long before.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yit doesn't bother me if I was blocked or ignored but when I block someone it's usually cause they might bullie or insult me on my grammer and spelling or they might leave creepy messages or if there over 30 or 40 I'll block them cause it makes me feel awqward when someone over 30 or over 40 messages me on gag
00 ReplyAs it goes I've had both. The blocking came a couple of days after I said something to him which I presume must have offended him, even though I apologised for it but I could deal with it, however two weeks later he unblocked me. I sent him a message just to say hi how are you as we hadn't spoken by this time for about 3 or 4 weeks and nothing. The other day I sent him another one to ask again how his week had been and still nothing. It does hurt because I like him a lot.

+1 yIgnored for the most part because being blocked is at least a response. If you get blocked that is responding back indirectly and a syndication usually they don't want your friendship anymore. Getting ignored is crazy for me especially when you can read your message was left opened but being blocked is not crazy it's just depressing. Still though, you should explain yourself because it's not nice to do either without prompt.
