Girls, My ex-boyfriend invited me to spend Christmas with him... what should I do?

My now ex boyfriend and I have been dating off and on since I was 14 and he was 16- I'm 21 now. Our relationship was always long distance (him in Germany and me in New York) which is why we were off and on so much. Last year he broke up with me "for good" and a few weeks after he was in a new relationship (this all happened before Christmas and he was supposed to visit me then). He is now single again and I'm studying abroad for a semester and staying a bit longer for an internship in Germany. So he's been chatting with me again and yeah... so a few days ago he basically invited me to spend Christmas with him, saying that I would be the best present ever and that he would love it if I could. I've heard from our mutual friends that he's missed me and I know him well enough to know that there's a 98% chance he wants to get back together but I'm sort of confused about my own feelings and if I should go... help?

Chances of him wanting to get back is strong, however it does seem like you guys had years apart, and if it wasn't toxic I don't see the point in not going. HOWEVER if you don't want to be with him, don't go.

Life is a line, it has a beginning and an end, to spend it running in circles is wasteful. On again off again is a vicious cycle, it isn't just going to be on again and happily ever after
