"US" alpha males = hilarious bragging. These boys get their first erection, get out a ruler, then look up online whether they're above average or not. If above, they jump up and down and say, "I'm an alpha male! I'm an alpha male!" Age 13.

I'll tell you what an alpha male really is, boy. It's a man who not only has the plumbing in order to create a life, but the willpower and ability to work and support that child and their mom for the next 20 years. Or in my case, 4 kids, and pleasing the SAME mom for all those years.

Do I thump my chest and act like a jackass every time a girl walks by in order to advertise my ability to contribute sperm? Some boys are still going through puberty well into their 20s.

Am I a beta male? I didn't play football. I didn't join the Marines. I haven't tagged-and-bagged a hundred girls. I don't even know what "game" means. Here's what I have done: I married a "10" for love. I fathered 3 daughters and a son, and still do. I've worked for 20 years providing for them. I've authored 25 books. I have a Master's degree. I built a 500hp Mustang. I own a home. I have a business with 4 employees.

But I have never gotten out a ruler.

This question is rather simple to answer. It's all about your subconscious instincts, I guess that's what you would call it. Our ancestors would choose a male who seems fit enough to support a family. AKA, strong enough to protect the family/tribe, hunt for food, and etc. We don't see it as that no more, but that is how it is in the animal kingdom.

Possibly the most ironic thing about calling yourself "an alpha male" is that title has such an air of cockiness it belies internal insecurities about oneself. For instance, the need to validate oneself by boasting that they are an "Alpha" shows that the person who says it lacks support in their life from others, often having to lean on his own imagined self-importance instead of feeling the validation we all want from his peers.
Alpha male is a crude and archaic ideal of manhood. Being an alpha male does not mean that you are a good man. By most definitions, I am not an alpha, nor would I consider myself a beta. I do consider myself a good man. I am the breadwinner of my household, but I also enjoy cooking for my fiance and our kid. I started dating my fiance knowing full-well that she had a kid from some guy that split as soon as she said she was keeping the baby. I do make love to my woman, but I prefer that she get the most out of it. I am a sensitive man with emotions who can also turn on the stoic switch whenever needed.
I genuinely disagree with this dichotomous view of masculinity. If ever there was an instance where there were more than just two options, the way people act would be that. Are there alphas and betas? Oh, for sure, but there are so many more types of people a man can be.

This is really sad to see. Why in the WORLD would you want to limit yourself to be some sort of vacuous personality that is not you at all? Why bend over backward trying to fit in a meaningless label? You do realize those labels were made by incels, right? And they are purposefully vacuous? You're practically announcing to the world that you have no personality outside of thinking you're better than others. If anything, that's completely unattractive and shoots you in the foot. Every time I see something like this I just get depressed. On one hand, in a positive circumstance, it can be a confidence tool, but on the other hand, in a negative circumstance (which is arguably the most prominent), it is demeaning and it adds nothing to your value.

Nobody is an "alpha" male. Nobody is a "beta" male. Those concepts, which were based on a very outdated and incorrect theory that wolves acted in a similar fashion, are so vacuous they cannot apply to any functioning person. They are vacuous on purpose because it's an insult. It's the most "not personality" personality to say that those people do nothing for others and are successful for it.

An alpha male is a mature male. One that has a personality. One that isn't so obsessed with fitting in that they throw what makes them interesting out of the window because they are obsessed with masculinity rather than being dynamic. I don't mean to hurt others by saying this, because I can see the benefit of saying you're one as a sort of mantra. It can be a huge confidence booster to really just feel a good way. That being said, there IS a limit. Just be yourself! It will make you so much happier than being someone you're not. I tried that many years ago and I look back with cringe. It led me down a very dark path that I have since gotten out of.

I was raised a leader, not a follower. That being said, I'm not overbearing or controlling. But he's softspoken most of the time, and very passive. And I like that about him. Our personalities fit very well.

Never use the word 'Alpha' I prefer 'Confident Male' just makes the guys who use it sound like egotistical assholes. As for the ones you call 'Betas' here's a little advice;

1. Stop being a little bitch and go ask that girl that you like so much out on a date, the worse she can say is no.

If you knew anything about actual alpha's and beta's you'd know that any alpha can be taken off his thrown pretty easily. I've beaten several people that you'd view as an "alpha" I've also seen people you'd view as an Alpha that weren't that at all, just douches like most proclaimed "alpha's" are thus proving that they really aren't all that it's just a title, it doesn't make the man, it was made up so people could have a legitimately excuse to throw their weight around and not hide their ego.

Also looks can be deceiving never underestimate anything or anyone it's been my experience that the loudmouths about 80% of the time just talk, they speak loud they try to make themselves look big but in reality are the complete opposite of that. The ones you need to be afraid of are the quiet ones, they know what they are and what they can do and they don't feel the need to prove it to anyone.

I don't like alpha guys. "Alpha" usually means arrogant douchebag, or secretly-insecure-guy-who-uses-bluster-to-cover-it-up. For the first scenario, I'd prefer someone who doesn't disrespect me (or other people), or view me as inferior or submissive to him. I want an equal relationship.
