It's certainly true within reason, I think.
For instance, Angelina Jolie is considered attractive by many people. I am not one of them
There was a girl in high school that I was very very attracted to and some of my friends had a tepid response to her. Vice versa for some of the girls they liked.

That being said, I do not think everyone can eventually find someone special. I'm cynical though.

That said, lets keep in mind that the beholder is probably highly affected by things like genetics and society before determining what is and is not beautiful.

No, not at all. I think to a certain extent we are more likely to be attracted by specific things. Call it evolution if you will.

Beyond that I believe that society and our environment influences what we like. And of course, that also means that affection and attraction can grow regardless of initial attraction.

True-ish, there are certain things that a vast majority of people like, such as someone fit. Of course there are exceptions, people who like the extra thickness. So while it is true, it still is limited. Cause it applies to a select few. Most people like similar things.
But it is somewhat true.
Some people find snakes pretty, others find them the grossest things on the planet.
This follows the same logic.

It just means no one is universally attractive or unattractive. There will always be people who find you attractive and a group that no matter what you look like will find you unattractive. Doesn't mean there's somebody out there for everyone though. Disproportionate amount of people.

Everyone has personal preferences but there are universal elements that are considered "beautiful." For instance, while I'm really not a huge fan of Halle Berry, I - and anyone with eyes - will admit she's beautiful.

There are always exceptions to every rule, of course, but there are reasons why a huge hooked nose with a wart on it won't be seen as attractive by... well, anyone. Well yeah, but could be equally as "ugly" women who will love them, who knows? Maybe they have the best humor or are super charming, and their woman is super obese? I mean there are people who are born with a disease or something else that makes them look "ugly" according to society. These people still find their soulmate. I'd like to believe that there still are people out there who aren't shallow.
