We weren't in a relationship. It was only sex. So when I got pregnant I didn't tell him and decided I would be a single mother. Then when I told one of my friends who the father was she apparently knew him and told him I was and that he was the dad. So then he texted me and asked if it was true which i just fessed up and then asked me why I didn't tell him and then I responded that I don't owe him any explanation and what happens with my own body. After I told him this I blocked him and can longer receive messages from him so I don't know what he said after that.

For all the guys who think I should've told him keep in mind I don't want child support or any help from him. So either way its none of his business in my view.

Either way I'm moving out state and moving on with life, but I wondering what other guys would do in this situation.

I appreciate that many men are being honest and saying they wouldn't want to be involved. I think most men natural urge isn't to create children but they don't want to raise them. Even in nature with most mammal's mom's raise the kids and dad's leave after they shoot the sperm.

I know you said to shut it to the females but I don't think you are wrong at all. He knew you had sex and knew it was a possibility, so if he really wanted to know he should have been checking in. It should not be your job to reach out to him in my opinion. If you think you and the baby are better off then do what you feel is right. I'd jump state soon though cause if he decides to fight you you may not be able to later (if he starts the court process) now you won't have a problem, he'd have to prove he's the father before he has any say. This is a legal issue. You do not have the right to say that he has no parental rights because you are not seeking child support. Such agreements between biological parents are unenforceable.

He has the right to visitation and even to custody if he can prove that he is the more fit parent, regardless of your desire to waive child support. I am certain you will not like that but that is the law.

From a moral standpoint, why would you deprive your child of the right to have a father? Simply because having a father involved would make your life more complicated?

If he wants to be involved, I hope he will make all efforts to be a good father. Virtually every study that you read says that children have a better chance for success when they have both a mother and a father involved in their lives.

It's my feeling if you did not want him to know, then you really should not have told anyone who the father was. It's kind of a bitch being able to see both sides of this situation but I think if I were in his position, even now that he knows, I'd just walk away from the situation. My grandmother did something like this to my grandfather, and honestly I find it cruel. He wanted to raise the baby and even marry her, and instead my grandma moved out of state without telling him where she was going.

I honestly think that it's not you should think about at the moment, it's your baby's future. Yes, it's good to know you feel strong enough to do this on your own but what about the baby... When she's 15 and asking about her dad?
If he wants to be in the baby's life and is willing, why not let him? You have no right to deny him rights to his child. The courts could also prevent you from moving away any distance that would hamper his abilities to parental rights.
