My boyfriend really struggles with emotions. If I ask how his day is, he'll just say "ok" or "alright". If it's good he says "good". But he will never ever say if he's finding things hard. He doesn't come to me for emotional support because he's used to just dealing with things on his own. He thinks of them as just little things and doesn't need to talk about them. He doesn't share things either (such as memories) unless you ask. He thinks "emotions are bad" basically and it makes him weak. I never really know what he is thinking. Everyone says he is ice cold.

I'm very emotional and open so we do clash a little at times. Especially since I like to hear nice things. If I say I'm missing him then he will usually just joke about, instead of saying "I'm missing you too". I even said to him that sometimes I need reassurance and I couldn't understand why he couldn't just tell me that he misses me, so then I feel ok again. But the reason why is because sayings things like that are hard for him.

I've just kind of accepted that it's him. That's what he does. Yes, it's a little weird and frustrating. We've talked about it and he says he just finds it hard but he's trying. That's all I can ask for really. It's not a deal breaker it just makes things a little harder for me. But the thing is he does share things and express his emotions when he needs to. It will come completely out of the blue. Like he will just randomly tell me that he can't wait to see me and all the reasons why, the snuggles and waking up in the morning. Yet he is incapable of just saying that when I say I miss him. Like I said, it's hard but not a deal breaker.

And I would never expect him to change. If he wants to work on it then that's great. He can take his time. But it's definitely not something I can just force out of him. Many people have tried and it's just pushed him further away. He goes on the defensive if this happens.

I see it more as just something I have to be mature about and just understand/accept.

Relationship of any type between any two or more persons (Girl to Girl, Guy to guy or Girl to Guy) are based on communications in which they have expressed some feelings or clear view. If a person is inexpressive - he or she must have problem in his / her emotional world. A boy or girl if inexpressive - may have poor feelings of Love and desire for sex. In this condition - if they marry their sex-life will be boring and dull. Girl may behave submissive - without warmth for sex. Guy may not get enough erection to penetrate and ejaculate. There is no reason to keep relationship with such person.

If he is just an ICE CUBE and does not even say I LOVE YOU in certain occasions then that would be a deal breaker to me.

I honestly would tolerate an emotionally unexpressive boyfriend if he could still show me with actions that he loves me and cares for me, otherwise i would honestly just pack my bags and go, i am too "caliente" for a cold man...

My boyfriend is emotionally inexpressive. He can't deal with emotions at all, he's rubbish with them :P I'm super emotional so sometimes it clashes but most of the time it works out and were able to balance it.

I'm not an emotionally expressive person in RL either so I don't know if that would be good or bad lol. I'm not a big romance person so when people talk about feelings a lot I get uncomfortable

Depends on if he's able to show things in his own way. If he's just a an unaffectionate drone we're going to have issues.

What I hate more than a emotionally unexpressive boyfriend is a over sensitive one. But yea, being unexpressive is not either. You can not say it but you got to somehow express it

Depends if he could open up to me and communicate his feelings through talking even if he wasn't able to show them. Deal breaker if he's got zero sensitivity or apparent enjoyment.
