+1 yFeelings aren't always indicators of the truth. Guys are not like girls in our communication. For the most part we don't speak in round about ways and for the most part what we say is what we mean at face value.
Examples of girls talking in round about ways:
It's getting late (while on a date) - means we're not having sex tonight, possibly ever.
Maybe - means no.
Take your time/don't rush - means it's ain't going to happen.
I'm fine - means I'm not fine.
Where is this relationship going - means are we going to be in a committed relationship/are you going to marry me.
Guys generally don't have hidden meanings or round about ways of saying things as in the examples I cited above. Guys tend to be direct and as I stated say exactly what they mean.
What you're trying to do with your boyfriend is: A. Take his comments like a girl would say them and B. Read between the lines where there are no lines to read between.
What he means is exactly this and I will be overboard to illustrate my point: you're not a stick figure of a girl, you got nice tits, ass, and thick thighs I want my face in between all night. You're not fat your thick, thick meaning not a twig.
I don't care for twiggy little girls, I like thick girls Because I dig the curves. No chicken legs, pancake asses or breasts that go inward as if someone dropped a dumbbell on them. Being called curvy from a guy is a compliment.
Ask yourself this: If you were fat, would he be with you? Well there's different strokes for different folks, but do you know him to be a man of low starndards in this area? I doubt it.
Girls use the word curvy for example when setting up their gal pal for a blind date. They don't want to say "she's fat" so they say "she's curvy" instead. What you're boyfriend said and meant is not that. I get the media portrays that only girls who weigh 110 lbs and look like their starving are hot. I can tell you for certain at least 50% of guys like thick girls. To me thick girls are hotter because they have those curves I do so adore and they look like women, not pre pubescent girls. I do not find fat girls attractive, but do find thick girls attractive and there's a definite difference.
As it's been said: "You wouldn't want a stake that was nothing but bone, why would you want your girl the same way?"11 Reply- +1 y

If he didn't say fat, he doesn't mean fat. Guys dont use underhanded sneaky words with different meanings and interpretations... what we say is what we mean.

its not going to matter, as she will get what she wants out of it. Read her comments and see how she makes her own reality and ignores people who are telling her the truth of what he meant by it
Asker+1 yNo, that's not true. This just happened so I'm a bit upset

@applesandoranges22 Thats what all girls do at some point or the other. Thats why i curb that shit from the start with any girl im with. I tell em i say exactly what i mean... if I said big and you said huge... thats on you... not me. I did/said my part.
@Asker then you know what, how bout you take a breather first... then revisit the topic.
The world knows that emotions are the main reason why girls are considered crazy, so trying to figure something out while you are feeling one of the negative ones (upset)... is probably a bad idea.
Why dont you watch some cute cat videos for like 30 mins... then come back to it. - +1 y
Ugh. I agree. Sometimes I think I must be a guy lol I didn't think women were this dumb. Smh
- +1 y
@BuchitaBuchys I have respect for women in very many respects, i believe they can be a force to be reckoned with. But when it comes to their communication/relation with males, or even their relationships... i have next to zero respect... because of shit like this. Taking something minor and making it major, or vice versa... asking questions they dont want answers to, unwillingness to understand male nature and thinking just because she won't, he shouldn't too... long and endless list.
Any man that wants his relationship to survive, knows full well not to hand over the reigns completely to a female... because many act like they know what they are doing.. but in reality, have no clue.
Asker+1 y@Tdieseler I was not taking something minor and making it major. Negatively commenting on your significant others appearance is pretty major. This wasn't the result of me asking him any question that I didn't want the answer to. Lastly, if women are so bad at relationships, perhaps you should consider being in a relationship with a man :)
- +1 y
asker this is EXACTLY what you mean you literally displayed a class A example of why some women are literally impossible to converse with without some misinterpretation and confrontation on your part. he's not the problem I am am not either. Your boyfriend is not the problem YOU are.
- +1 y
@applesandoranges22 yea... i noticed :( she did it again...".. negatively commenting..".. I saw it..
she said saying that to your "SO" is major... except it wasn't negative... he just said thicker than skinny.. which according to the guy scale means "healthy"... but the bit... i mean.. the girl already considers herself fat.. so thats all she is thinking about.. bt this guy doesn't see it that way.. he finds her sexy as fuck (idk why.. she lacks a brain to me)... saying she is the problem won't work.. they never listen.
now to @Asker If women are so bad, maybe i should be with men... lol.. darling.. im masculine.. and that demands femininity.. women are bad at relationships so guys Like Me, Take Control of it and make sure we make sure we make it work. If you were my girl... you wouldn't be spouting all this nonsense.
To be honest... GaG was the first place i ever heard of alpha male... i thought it was just me being honest.
You are either the problem... or your boyfriend is.
+1 yRelax. He obviously loves you very much, and does find you attractive. Accept the compliment and be curvy. I am actually trying to be curvy—so are a lot of other girls.

No, he did not call you fat. Here's what I think of when I hear these terms:
Skinny = Thin, small or almost no boobs. Sometimes sickly. Olive Oil from Popeye. Can be affected by wardrobe selection to a small degree.
Curvy = Prominent hips and boobs. Proportionally smaller waist, but not too thin. Hourglass figure. Very attractive in my opinion. Marilyn Monroe type. Can be affected by wardrobe selection. Judging by your description, I would assume this is what he was meaning.
Stocky or stout = More of a masculine build. Relatively broad shoulders and somewhat muscular. Boobs can be large or small. Waist and hips close to same size, usually with a flat butt. (Can't think of a famous woman right off that fits this category.) Can be affected by wardrobe selection.
Fat = Large all over. Generally large boobs, large butt, thick neck and no defined ankles. If wearing pants, midsection spills out all the way around. Wardrobe choice can not hide this.00 Reply1.4K opinions shared on Relationships topic. He didn't fucking call you fat. Why are you girls all obsessed with being twig skinny? It means you have curves. Is your waist to hip ratio closer to 0.7 or 1? Do you have tits or are you flat-chested? Do you have a butt and thick thighs or do you have a pancake ass and chicken legs? Unless you've got some sort of hardcore muffin top going, you're not fat. Jeeeeeeeesus.

Asker+1 yNo. Normal = not fat, not skinny
Asker+1 yYeah I guess. Kinda thought I was until my dumbass boyfriend got me questioning things smh
Asker+1 yMaybe, but I would never use the word 'thick' , it implies bigness
Asker+1 yThat doesn't necessarily make one fat-ish though. Thick is another term for fat. Like he was saying "a little fatter than skinny". I don't have excess fat lol
Asker+1 yI'm not insecure. I'm saying that I ran track, so I have more muscle, not fat. What does thick mean to you then?
- +1 y
I agree. Man these women love drama and arguments and/or really fucking stupid lol
Asker+1 yI mean to each their own. Thanks though :)
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yLOL you need to chill.. So what if he called u curvy or a little thicker than skinny.. Being thicker than skinny is optimal.. Im 99.9% sure he finds you smoking hot.. Fat is different.. I still dont get what obsession girls have with being skinny.. Its like the biggest misconception..
Asker+1 yI don't want to be skinny. "Thicker than skinny" sounds really bad though. As I told others, just because you may be into fat girls doesn't make it ok to say these things about a woman's body
Opinion Owner+1 yWell.. i dont think he said it in an insulting way.. What else is he meant to say to not make it sound bad? "thicker than skinny" is probably the best and politest way to put it... Being thicker than skinny doesn't mean that your fat lol..
Asker+1 yThe politest way to put it, eh? If he doesn't think I'm fat, why would he have to try to be polite? lol
Opinion Owner+1 yIm talking from your perspective.. If you think he's calling you fat by saying "thicker than skinny".. How else do YOU want him to say that if you think thats rude?
He probably wasn't even being polite, he just said what he feels and thats not actually fat.. Your over thinking too much
Asker+1 yCurvy is one thing, that's vague - could go either way. There's no vagueness in thick though - that does mean big!!
Opinion Owner+1 yOk.. you know what.. Fine.. He did call you fat.. Now go and cry about it in the corner.. *ITS THE END OF THE WORLD BOO HOO*
Asker+1 yYou're an ass!!
Opinion Owner+1 yThanks.. at least Im not fat or "thick" though 😉
Asker+1 yNeither am I but apparently you like fat, so...
Opinion Owner+1 yI said fat is different.. I like curvy so..
Asker+1 yYou could've just said that you think he was calling me fat from the beginning 👌
Opinion Owner+1 yI wish i did now actually.. apparently the truth still hurts people.. Should have lied first instead
+1 yWell what are your height and measurements? If you have a jelly belly then that's fat to me. Curvy = nice smooth bubble butt and nice boobs, flat stomach. Fat = curves on the curves (ie your panties look like a bag of marbles) Skinny = no boobs or butt worth noticing (most Asians). It is true curvy is sometimes a code word for fat (mostly women's own fault on Craigslist, calling themselves curvy when they are in fact fat/bbw). Maybe he meant actual curvy, dunno without a pic.
01 Reply- +1 y
Looks like a fatty disagrees.
+1 y- +1 y
Curvy is good~ it means usually you have a feminine hourglass shape and probably big boobs/butt :) It is not fat~ relax :) Otherwise he'd have called you chubby or something like that!
I see girls are paranoid about this fact of curvy , damn ladies get a doctor soon !

Asker+1 yI did get a dictionary & did a Google image search, those girls were fat, which further irritated me. And I'm not a slut, so...
- +1 y
so you are the same idiot that posted the same post, you replied the same nonsensical answer lol ! I've googled it too, yeah, some girls are just fat, but most of them are what the word curvy means, with curves lol on their thighs, hips. Most time overweighted girls use to call themselves curvy instead of admitting they are just in need of a diet , that's why on google you have mixed models, but if you check on a dictionary and compares the word fat and curvy, you'll see the meaning is different. So stop replying idiot things, it doesn't mean a damn thing you're not a slut, the point is that curvy is not a bad word as fat, so stop bitching. Or else, well maybe you know you are not skinny at all and that burns you ass.

Asker+1 yI'm not twisting anything. And this wasn't the result of a "do you think I'm fat? " question. Curvy is a vague term, I only asked him for clarification
Asker+1 yCurvy is vague these days because obese women have hijacked it, so normal girls don't know which definition someone is using anymore. Not the way it should be but sadly that's the way things are now
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yWell a lot of guys call girls curvy that I would find skinny so I'm not sure what you look like to say. To be curvy is a girl with a pretty big butt and boobs and a lot of definition in her waist thus making her hips appear wider, or a girl that's not fat but could be a bit " chubby " but not overweight. Girls that just have normal sized boobs and a regular healthy looking body to me look skinny. I don't relate skinny with being underweight or bones showing. That is anorerxia

- +1 y
Would he really have sex with a girl he didn't find attractive?
Asker+1 yGuys do it pretty often actually
- +1 y
Pretty often, eh? What's your source?
Asker+1 yGuys. They tend to lower their standards for convenient sex
- +1 y
I think this is a case of insecurity, though.
Asker+1 yOf course you do. Guys always like to blame a girl's "insecurities". We all have insecurities, but I know I'm not fat...
- +1 y
Wait so if you know you're not fat, then why do you think he's "low key" calling you fat?
Asker+1 yI mean I'm not skinny, so it's really subjective. People have different definitions of what fat is to them. I may be fat to someone lol
- +1 y
If you mean a bit of pudge, like maybe your belly has a bit of an outward-pudge, that's most human beings and that's not fat to most.
Asker+1 yPoint is, to some people if you're not a toothpick you're fat... so how was I to know how he meant it?
- +1 y
People like that don't really like to date girls who they find "fat"
Asker+1 yI also think people date people for more than just what they look like, hopefully
- +1 y
People base who they ask out on their attractiveness to them but also because that person seems nice enough on the outside. The first few dates are to see if their personality reflects this.
- +1 y
'' Guys always like to blame a girl's "insecurities".''
we do this because it is clear. I am going through this question and I can see your insecurities just raging like crazy. we all have insecurities like you said, but then there are some people like you who just let it eat away at them and start getting paranoid and wondering if you are fat. This is why I cannot stand people like this in real life. Even when you give them compliments they STILL get angry and take it out on other people as we see on this post. do you know how many women would want to have curves? and here you are, getting mad and defensive when someone gives you that compliment of having it in the right places. you even ''pressed him'' on it. For a compliment? really? - +1 y
and that stereotype of a women saying ''are you calling me fat'' or ''does this make me look fat'' doesn't come from anywhere. there are to many of your types out there. there is no such thing as contempt for you.
Asker+1 yYes, because just saying "curvy" is vague. I'd rather ask him what he meant & know than to be left to wonder. There's nothing wrong with asking for clarity
Asker+1 yIt's not necessarily a compliment by the way. "Thicker than skinny" sounds horrible!!
- +1 y
really? he literally said you have it all in the right places. what, do you want him to give you some abstract essay of how curvy you are? its a compliment, take it and just accept it.
Asker+1 yHe only said that because I asked what he meant. Just 'curvy' can mean different things to different people. The part that really bothered me was "thicker than skinny" . It could have been a compliment or a polite way of calling me fat
- +1 y
yeah, it is. As being skinny isn't really my type and it doesn't sound like his either. even when presented logic you are going to come up with ''oh well guys have low standards so that explains it'' like last time. you would come up with ANY possibility except a positive one. your insecurity is literally eating away at you and if your boyfriend has noticed this then odds are that is a big putt off to him too. do you want to be skinny? is that it? EVEN if your doctor says you are not over weight? so basically, stop listening to me. Go starve yourself to achieve some goal of yours because you are fat. I've seen this before and the women often looks like she has starved herself and looks sick in the long run.
- +1 y
but you dont want to listen. you just want people to feed your insecurity by saying ''yes you are fat!'' I bet if you showed a picture almost everyone here would not see it and there would be girls who envy curves because you know, a lot of them aren't fortunate enough to have that yet you are complaining about it
Asker+1 y"Yeah it is" , what? I don't care what his type is. It's my body. No, I don't want to be skinny but I don't want my boyfriend calling me fat either, especially since I'm not
- +1 y
and no curvy doesn't mean fat. Look at the definition of curvy. A couple of fat broads who go around saying they are curvy just want an excuse to be obese. your doctor says you are alright, almost everyone on this page is telling you its apart of your imagination. you dont want to ''press'' him ''for clarification'' you want him to feed your insecurity. this is how people develop eating disorders.
- +1 y
OH MY GOD HE wasn't CALLING YOU FAT. do you see why I said I hate talking to people like you? goodbye...
Asker+1 yWrong!! Like I said 'curvy' is a vague term. I wanted to know what he meant. You don't have to tell me about eating disorders. Been there. That's why I'm so sensitive to comments about my body
- +1 y
I already told you. your problem is not with me, your boyfriend or guys having ''low standards'' or ANYONE ''calling you fat'' the problem is with your insecurities. I am not a counselor and no one here can help you. You need to get some help
Asker+1 yYou know nothing about me. Like I said I've had eating disorders, so I do have a counselor. My problem right now is with my boyfriend. And just because you may like fat girls, doesn't mean that applies to everyone
- +1 y
I know how you display yourself, and I have dealt with insecure people my whole life and I can see through your crap. AGAIN. YOUR problem has NOTHING to do with me and I DONT like fat girls just because YOU think you are one. your boyfriend has NOTHING to do with YOUR problem either. your counselor is clearly not helping you. you are a wreck!
Asker+1 yYou have no clue what you're talking about!! Lol I don't think I'm fat. You're a know it all idiot. Bye
- +1 y
you dont think you are fat yet you ''low key'' thinks he is calling you fat. you think curvy=fat and you keep over thinking things. Again, I know your type and ALL the insecure people I deal with DENY it. Dont worry though, if you let this behavior carry on it will develop into actual personality disorders. Have you ever seen narcissistic person? do you ever wonder how that starts? I've seen it develop right in front of my eyes and trust me, thats MUCH worse than a eating disorder. Im not a know it all, but I do have experience
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yUuhhh... No? He called you curvy which means you have just the right amount of curve to your figure, meaning you're not a rail. And he loves it if he's saying that. So he's not insulting you, he's giving you a compliment.

Opinion Owner+1 yThen why would you care so much about what he said?
You just said with your own words that you know that your not fat and that your boyfriend can be replaced easily. I wonder why you got all cranky just because of few honest words.
I dont think im the one thats pathetic.
Asker+1 yIf I'm not fat, then they're not honest words. I just don't want to keep a man around that has a negative view of me. Anyone can be replaced, doesn't mean that I want to replace him
Opinion Owner+1 yFrom your point of view, you know your not fat.
But in your boyfriends eyes... you're just a little thicker than skinny.
Everyone has different views, more over you pressured him and he gave you an answer.
Im just trying to make you understand things from both views, not everything revovles around you. Try to see both point of views before actually stating your opinion. If you dont like his negative view on you, next time.. dont ask questions that will upset you.

Asker+1 yAs I've said, I'm not self conscious of my weight. I know I'm not fat & I'm not twisting anything. I just don't want to keep a boyfriend who thinks that I'm fat. Maybe men should learn how to give compliments
Asker+1 y@Pearl97 Typical. Instead of a man learning to express himself appropriately, it's me who has the problem 👌

Holy shit. You're blowing this out of proportion.
Curvy does not mean fat. Period. I went over the comments. And your boyfriend didn't say anything wrong. My SO says the same thing. I'm fit and I'm a boxer ffs I KNOW I'm not fat but I do know that I have curves.
I don't know what you're talking about with "typical" but admitting that you are wrong isn't a blow to the ego. It's respectable. That's how life works.
Asker+1 y@Pearl97 I mean 'typical' the woman is expected to smile & play the part to keep a man. How dare we speak up when we don't like something or question anything a man says. I'm not wrong. He doesn't know how to compliment or stfu

for me it sounded more like a compliment, having curves is a good thing.
Then I said he wouldn t be with you if he wasn t into you.
by the way check the pics on pink anon and tell me which body type are you closer to.
+1 yHe didn't call you fat chill

Asker+1 yWhy would you rather be curvy? To each their own but that's kinda gross 😂 😂
Opinion Owner+1 yOh girl you'll learn some day
Asker+1 yI hope not lol
Opinion Owner+1 yYou need to learn to love yourself hun. 💁💅💄👠 who cares what the little boy said anyway... love yourself
Asker+1 yI do actually. I know I'm not fat. I just don't want to keep a man around who thinks that I am
Opinion Owner+1 yLol oyyyyy... He called you curvy not fat... big difference... just like what else everyone else telling you here too..
Asker+1 yI'm hearing what people are saying. I know I must seem really stubborn but these days they do kind of mean the same thing. Sad but true
Opinion Owner+1 yHow old are you? -- and yes in this generation everything sounds just about crazy... but I'm telling you curvy is sexy to guys
Asker+1 yI'm almost 21
Opinion Owner+1 yGod bless you ! To be 21 again... well you said almost.. but girl really... don't be with any guy who makes you feel sad... but I promise you curvy is a sexy thing to a guys tho and if you really feel like your boyfriend is making it out like it's not dump his ass... but it doesn't sound like it..."curves in all the right places" he's pleased!!!

+1 yWhat do his exes look like?

Asker+1 yNot as good as me lol. I don't see the relevance though...

Well, if he has dated "thick" women before, it could be a compliment. If he has just dated skinny women, then he could be calling you fat.
Asker+1 yNo, I'd say I'm actually smaller than most of them
- +1 y
Then, you should have nothing to worry about.
+1 yYouvare twisting his words

Asker+1 yHow am I doing that? I posted the exact words that he said
- +1 y
What im saying is that some guys like thicker women. A girl being thick and fat are similar but not the same. Thicker means you have more meat to make your body look better. Fat is having too much meat in the wrong areas, creating lumps and flaps. Point is, he gave you a compliment and you are making it out to be an insult
Asker+1 yJust because someone likes fat girls, doesn't make it a compliment to call a girl fat!
- +1 y
Ugh again you are taking it in wrong. I don't know if women just don't know the words guys like to use but you aparently don't. Only way for me to best explain this to you is for you to google thick girls and fat girls. there's a big difference
Asker+1 yI did. Basically looks the same to me. Thanks for your input though :)
+1 yhey.. being curvy is being sexy...

Asker+1 yYou must be into fat girls?
- +1 y
not fat girls.. muscles.. not fat.. like Sofia vergara..
- +1 y
@Asker you have a very closed mind. Curvy is a good thing to some guys. You really need to take a step back and seriously chill.
- +1 y
hey.. asker why don't you post a pic in how do I look...
Asker+1 yBecause I'm not interested in stranger's opinions on what I look like
- +1 y
hey.. then think that it was a compliment from your boyfriend..
- +1 y
You're not interested in people's opinions of what you look like, but you're looking for our affirmation that he did call you fat? This is an issue that won't be resolved until you're okay with yourself. None of us can honestly help you right now. Not while you're upset.
Asker+1 y@watercolor_lions I wanted an opinion on his words. It's a bit desperate to seek internet opinions on appearance. I know I'm not fat. My doctor knows I'm not fat, so...
- +1 y
hey.. he is fucking you.. it can only mean one thing.. he is attracted to you..
Asker+1 yOh yeah... cause guys never have sex with a girl they're not really attracted to 👌
- +1 y
well.. I am a virgin.. so how the fuck would I know...
Asker+1 yLol. Good for you :)
- +1 y
is it a mockery..
Asker+1 yNo not at all. I think being a virgin is nice
- +1 y
may I ask how did you lost yours...
Asker+1 yTypical, I was 16 with a guy from school. I don't regret it but I kinda wish I'd waited
- +1 y
why do you wish that?
Asker+1 yJust wish it'd been more special instead of just getting it over with in a way
- +1 y
wow.. right now.. I feel just the opposite.. its like I want to do it as fast asi can..
Asker+1 yWell, you're a guy. That's normal. I get it. Just don't rush into it, it'll happen
- +1 y
yeah.. I guess..
- +1 y
by the way.. I font know why you are so obsessed with being skinny because curves are better for woman.. a woman with curves find it easier to reproduce..
Asker+1 yI don't want to be skinny. Don't want to be fat either. "Thicker than skinny" really sounds like fat to me
- +1 y
hey.. its just your thinking.. I want 14 %body fat.. anything above it doesn't really means ugly.. it means yeah a bit more fat concentration.. so what he may still be Good looking for all I know..
- +1 y
same for female department..
+1 yNo lol, he basically just called you sexy
