Why would she refuse to accept my gifts?

I recently started a relationship with a beautiful woman, smart, outgoing and successful... In all our dates she asked me to share the check (I have no problem with that). Now, we have been together for about a year and ever since I can remember, she has refused to accept my gifts. Yesterday was the worse, she said she really "appreciated my intention but that she could not accepted", she said she was with me because she wanted to be with me and that she was not looking to get a boyfriend to get expensive gifts... she took it after a long beg to accept it but she asked me not to give her gifts... im sure she is not a gold digger because she has no needs.. is just hard to understand why would she refuse to accept my gifts?

well I'm certain you're not the only person she refused gifts from. she's a natural Giver not a taker. I'm the exact same way. the reason why she refuses to accept the gift is because it makes her feel bad. she may feel like she doesn't deserve those gifts without working towards earning it herself. I can admit that it can make us feel like us spoiling us over spoiled in general, and that can make us even more insecure.

another Factor is that we can start thinking within our own minds: how come that person is giving me gifts when I never asked? that often leads some of us to feel paranoid, if you never did any of that in the beginning. sometimes we will feel like your intentions are not genuine, and that you were looking for something out of us. these days a lot of guys are. therefore those intentions are not genuine. but with some of the things I just said I doubt that's the case with her. you said some pretty nice things about her so I can tell that you're a great guy and you just want to show your appreciation to her. but right now it's just best not to give her anything. don't pressure her to take anything from you. talk it out about your love languages, and help each other be at ease. that is my suggestion.

It's probably someone told her about the gold digger thing and she doesn't want you to think that if her. Or maybe she's like me and feels like she owes people if they give her things, so she won't take them.

She probably just doesn't want you spending so much money on her when she already has everything she needs, if you want to know exactly, just communicate with her and ask her about it. No harm done in just asking her.
