My boyfriend told another girl he was single. Do I dump him or give him another chance?

Me and my boyfriend have been together for 2 years now. A few months ago he went out with work friends, all was fine until I rang him at around 2:30am to see where he was (I hadn't heard from him in about 2 hours at this point). The phone answered in his pocket. I could hear loud music as if he was in a club (He told me he was going to a restaurant and bowling) So, me being the skeptic stayed on the phone to wait until he noticed I was on the line, to ask where the hell he was. Time passed and I heard him get into the car with another girl. I wasn't shocked, I thought ok he's dropping her home fine. They had a normal, casual conversation, until she asked him if he was single. My boyfriend then says yes he's single and proceeded to say "I've been seeing this girl for about a year but she's in Ireland (I was visiting my family for 2 weeks) and I'm going to Barcelona sooo..." (He was about to go on study abroad the next month)... The girl asked him "Oh, well, do you like her?" He replied, "Yeah but I can multi-task". You can imagine my shock hearing this after being in a happy relationship for 2 years. Anyway, he drops her home and finally sees I'm on the phone, he says I heard it wrong blah blah... He then says he has to be up early for work and goes to bed. The next morning he went to work and avoided speaking on the subject until he finished work. So he left me all day without speaking, knowing how distraught and upset I was. Cut to now. He has quit study abroad and has bought me everything under the sun, written me letters, confessed his undying love to me and says it was a mistake, that he was very drunk and he wants nothing more than to be with me for the rest of his life. I loved him more than life itself, and do truly believe he is sorry but cannot bring myself to 100% be his girlfriend again as the trust is gone. What should I do? Break it off for good or give him another chance? (I am 20 years old by the way in my final year of University and he is 21)

It's a good sign that he gave up his study abroad opportunity, because it shows he doesn't want to lose you. I think he is genuinely sorry, and I think you should forgive him IF you can do it 100% (usually people can't because they can't get the trust back). I wouldn't blame you if you couldn't do it, but I think you should give him a second chance. What he did was bad, but he didn't have sex with her or an affair.

If I were you I would pull the same stunt. just go out, meet a guy, call him and put it in your pocket and let it all out.

Seems to me he wants to be single when he goes out and to meet people just because he thrives off the attention, and then at the same time he wants to "come home to you". If you really love him and want to be with him then you CAN give him another chance but dont be so quick about him, make him EARN his trust back etc. If you dont think you can maven as in you think you would resent him then leave.

i think he might be sorry but it doesn't stop the fact that he said that, drunk or not that was something that was on his mind and how he as feeling and im afraid that he is only apologizing and trying to make up for it because he got caught, but think about it would he be like this if you weren't have of caught him
