Is it normal to get frustrated and annoyed that your boyfriend spends more time with his friends than you?

I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend for 2years 4mnths before going to uni 5 months ago we saw each everyday but now we only see each other on weekends. I trust him with his friends and everything. But he literally goes round every single night but as I'm away I can't be mad that he hangs out with his friends but during our time his friends are constantly calling him or texting him asking him to go out and then they say oh sorry I forgot it was the weekend. He works through the day as well so we don't talk then and then we don't when he's with his friends so I literally just feel like a weekend girlfriend. I've told him how i feel about it so many times and he says he'll try harder, but I don't want him to try harder i want him to want to talk to me even if its just half an hour on the phone. He says that he's just bad at messaging because he doesn't know what to say, but when he's over and his friends message he talks to them pretty easy and so im just sat there. I love him so much and I dont want to break up with him but im feeling like it's heading that way. Am I just over reacting?

Well communication is the key to all relationships. nothing wrong with friends but Girlfriend should come first. But people wanting everyday to be with each other can run many people away. there should be a balance between friends and boy friends or girlfriends.
texting you should be spot on if he loves you. But guys sometimes dont know what to say. Its good your telling him how you feel now he needs to tell you his feelings.

If you want to be with someone you need to learn to give them space. No matter what both of you should give each other space and that will keep you both at ease. Questioning or possesssing each other too much with create tensions between you 2.
