Should I be excited to show off my boyfriend to people in my life and why is HE so excited to make all his friends and family to meet me?

I feel like I'm constantly being shown off to everyone in my boyfriend's life. I've already met his whole family and most of his relatives. I've met almost all of his best friends and many not that close ones. The ones I haven't yet met he's desperately trying to take me out to meet.

I'm not too happy about being shown off to all these people. I don't see the point in going through all these people, telling them about myself. Why do we have to do this?
He's met my family and few closest friends I spend most time with and for me that's what's important. I don't care about anyone else's opinions or blessings on our relationship. I see no point in making it such a big deal or yelling to everybody "HERE'S MY NEW BOYFRIEND, CAN YOU SEE HIM!!"

Why is it so damn important to him?
Is it bad that I'm not too interested in being introduced to everyone or showing him off to all the people I know?

Clearly, he's very happy to have you as his girlfriend. For what reasons I wouldn't know... But it's not something you should be worried about. This shows that he wants you to be a part of his life. Not just a fling, but a serious part of it.

However, if you don't like being introduced to people he knows, you should be worried about your own intentions. Do you plan on staying with him, or is this a just a short time relationship for you?

I kinda have been worried about my own feelings towards this whole thing. I feel like I shouldn't be this annoyed with being introduced to people. I have been taking our relationship kinda one day at a time, I don't know what I want from it, I just know I currently feel good and safe in it and that he's a great guy. I never doubt us when I'm with him and not talking about future. I only doubt when alone or when there's future discussions. I also think my uncertainty has nothing to do with him but with me being scared of getting hurt again (past relationships) or losing him (have had several people who were dear to me die this past 6 months (cancer and other illnesses) and I'm constantly worried about who's going next) and scared of letting him get too important to me because that would leave me too vulnerable if anything were to happen.

If you're unsure about the future, you need to talk about it. The future is not a topic to avoid like so many do. You can't prevent things from moving forward, and knowing what you want from your relationship in the future is very important.

You say he makes you feel safe. This is important, but then you say that when you're not with him, you get insecure. This is something that you should start asking yourself about. "Why am I feeling insecure when he's not around?"

I can't answer that question for you, but I can tell you that you need to find the answer, and then talk to him about it.

Yea, I know I need to have a discussion with him but I'm not even sure what I have to say. We've kinda had the future talks and he always agrees with me with one day at a time etc. but I feel like that's not how we both really see things.

Also he never makes me feel insecure. He makes me feel safe. When we are together I'm sure about everything and I feel all powerful. What makes me feel insecure is my own thoughts when I'm alone. How unfitting I am to be anyone's girlfriend and I'm not worth it I'll just end up disappointing him and everyone else. And that maybe I shouldn't be trying to have relationships at all. But I believe all that comes from my narcissistic ex and dad. Due to them I can "do no right". And I've listened them way too much.

If he makes you feel so secure, that's perfect. there's no problem there. But again, you have to figure out why you're insecure when he's not around. Is it like you said, that you don't feel good enough? In that case, tell him about your insecurities with yourself, if he's as great as you describe him, I'm sure he'll be able to help you out with these feelings.

He wants to show you off, he obviously feels excited for you to meet people because he's excited, it's a good thing not a bad thing
