I threw my drink at my boyfriend in public but he won't talk to me?

I was drunk on Saturday and that's what happened. I threw my drink at him during an argument.

He considered it assault and isn't talking to me at this moment. It's already Tuesday. I have a hard time how that can be assault. It was just a drink. I didn't directly make physical contact. But yeah what can I do? He won't talk to me? I was drunk.

It WAS technically assault, but I'm pretty sure that's not his REAL issue - his REAL issue is that he feels like you humiliated him in public, and you are making it seem like it's no big deal.

Being drunk is NOT an excuse - you are fully responsible for 100% of your behavior whether you are drunk or not.

Yes, you made a mistake, and yes, he's upset. in my opinion, the only way you're going to fix this is by taking responsibility for your actions, acknowledging that you were in the wrong, that you hurt his feelings and humiliated him when he didn't deserve to have that happen, and tell him how sorry you are, and that you love him, and hope he can find it in his heart to forgive you, and will reach out to you and tell you that he has gotten past it. If need be, write him a letter. And once you deliver it, LEAVE HIM ALONE and let him take the next step. If he doesn't get back to you within 2 weeks, you can safely assume that the two of you have broken up, and you can start the process of moving on.

Technically, it IS assault, but that's not the point. Either he's trying to make you suffer or he's done with you and hasn't said so. Childish behavior either way.
