I blew up at my boyfriend over a misunderstanding on my part and now he won't speak to me! What can I do?

A few days ago my boyfriend mysteriously stopped responding to my texts. I didn't know what was up and thought he was playing some sort of game with me so after 3 days of no response from any text message I sent, I sent him a very angry text saying we're done.

It turned out he lost his phone and when he got the replacement phone from his phone's insurance plan and saw those texts from me, he called me up and told me that the way I reacted was very immature and that he really doesn't want to be with anyone who would overreact like that.

Part of me wants to do anything and everything I can to get him back because he really is a great guy but the other part of me wants to let him go because the way he's not being very understanding of my acting the way I did is a pretty d*** thing to do.

What should I do and what would you do in my situation?

well you can't really do anything. He is being very understanding though. He understands that you guys see differently on the situation (you think 3 days of no response=breakup and he doesn't). He thinks that your view means that you are immature and based on that he has made the decision to not get back together. It sucks and its harsh but he calls the shots on who he wants to date. not being on your side doesn't mean he isn't being understanding. He sees your side but clearly still thinks it was an overreaction. Its all up to him at this point

I think you need to apologize to him and tell him that you are sorry. I think that both of you may be to blame. He really should have told you sooner that he lost his phone. three days is too long to not tell you this.There are ways to reach people besides cell phone. I do think that you may have overreacted a little. Tell him that you are sorry, that you over reacted, and that he should have told you sooner because you were real worried. And just give him time, us guys need a little time to let it sink into our brains. Hope I helped!

The way you reacted to the situation is simply not the way someone who was a mature woman would act. He is likely afraid that there will be future occurrences where you will blow up over nothing, and he's right to do so. If it were me, I would be long gone.

That's a really stupid thing to break up with someone over. You shoulda known something was up If he didn't respond after three days. I agree with him. It makes you seem suspicious of him. Like he was doing something bad which shows you don't really trust him.
